Here's a question I think I know the answer to... but I want to confirm with you experts on the dis...
My dad is a civilian worker and has access to buy our park tickets through the base at a discount rate. Once he does that... can I just log on to My Disney Experience and type a code in so that we can link the tickets to the rest of our reservations (hotel and restaurant)? Our trip is in June. I know I can't make fast pass reservations yet... but I want to make sure that the tickets we buy on base can indeed be linked to the website in order to set up our fast passes at the park. We already have reservations at Art of Animation so we are staying on property. Thank you for taking the time to respond!

Yes, this is exactly what you do. You type in the bar code number on the back.

Yes you will still need to activate the tickets before you enter the first park.

She won't have to. She isn't eligible for Armed Forces Salute tickets, she is talking about the regular MYW discounted tickets that the bases and SoG sells. They really only save you 10% and sales tax off of a regular MYW ticket.

Is it cheaper to do this? Can you buy park hopper tickets?

Only active duty military personnel and retirees are eligible for the super discounted AFS tickets. DoD personnel, and civilian contractors are not eligible for the $169 4 Day tickets.

Yes you are correct.

So as a civilian is it possible to get 3 adult and 1 child 7 day park hopper tickets through the base? 10% savings and no taxes sound nice.

If you are a civilian contractor, employed on the base, yes.

Thank you for asking this as I wanted clarification as well. Well be using the Military tickets bought on base, staying at AoA in June as well :)

How does one do that exactly? I ask because I have five AFS 4 Day Hoppers that I have already linked to my resort ressies on MDE. Thanks!

You take your tickets to the ticket window at any of the parks or DTD with your military ID, and the name, address, and birth date of every member of your party. Takes 10-15 minutes to do.

Thanks for the info. So no chance to get it done at Wilderness Lodge?

We just returned from a trip using tickets I bought on base (just regular tickets, not the special salute ones). I had no problem linking the tickets in MDE ahead of time or using them to choose FP+. BUT, the first time we tried to enter a park, only mine (and not the 3 others in my party) was actually linked to a magic band. The other three all had to show the actual ticket to get in, and then later we had to swing by guest services to get them properly linked.

Moral of the story... Always take the back up ticket with you, even if it's showing as linked in MDE. That really should go without saying... But I'm pointing it out again anyway. :)

No, the resort has nothing to do with your tickets. Tickets have to be activated at a ticket window. The closest one to the WL is the Ticket and Transportation Center. You'd either have to the take a bus to the MK and then take the monorail or ferry across the lake to the TTC. You can do it, of course, your first morning in the parks, but if you are going to do this your first morning, be aware that you need to build that time into getting to the park if you mean to make rope drop. With 5 people, it could take you 20 minutes to activate, longer if there is a line at the ticket windows.

Thanks very much for the heads up. I'll get it done our first afternoon as we are just going to hang out at the resort. You've saved me a great deal of trouble.:thumbsup2
