Buy tickets in advance?

We'll be in Orlando for other reasons in March and decided to add on a day at Universal. Just in case plans change, I'd like the flexibility of not being locked into $700 tickets. It is Spring Break though, so not sure whether certain dates sell out (if that's a thing). Is there a need to buy park tickets this far in advance, or can I wait until a week or two before we go?

You can wait. But do check current deals on Universal's page plus Undercover Tourist to see if there's any special promotion that you'd be able to use that you'd like.
