Is there a UPS/FedEx type of place on-site (we won't have a car)? I thought I remembered reading about one at DTD a while back , but now can't find the info. We're leaving late on our last day, so I'm thinking it might be nice to have a shipping store available if I go to pack and realize that shipping a few things might be easier........ I am going on the assumption that I can't/won't haul my things back to a WDW store and belatedly ask them to ship it home for me. LOL

If I were you I'd ask at your gift shop. They might be able to do it.

And re-original question- we've done it SO many times and LOVE it. No matter what we buy we always get it sent back to the resort- don't have to worry about anything.

I was thinking about it and it's nice that they go to the trouble of that added service, but I'm sure they make SO MUCH money off of it. I can totally see people in the parks being like "Oh I'd like to buy this but don't want to carry it around." Now they will buy it!

We have used all of the services. We have had purchases sent to the hotel, sent to the park entrance (called Package Pick-Up) and have also had larger or fragile items shipped home. The cost of shipping things is the same as you would pay for any UPS type delivery. Not cheap by any means, but a wonderful and necessary service! We have never had a problem of any kind.

This is one of the greatest things... You can shop all you want and have it all sent to your resort.. It worked out perfect for me. No problems at all. It saves you from standing there with something in your hand wondering if you really want to walk around the park all day carrying the item you have in your hand at the time. It will be at the gift shop at your resort the next morning.

We use it all the time too; back when DVC members got 10% off at the World of Disney store, we would buy TONS of stuff and have it sent to the room. (In fact, several trips we wound up buying a new suitcase to fit all the stuff we bought in! ) We also used the ship home option once for our monorail set and track, since it was such a big box. Very nice not having to pack it up and send it ourselves, and well worth the price.

They won't deliver it to your room per say...but each resort has a sort of gift shop..you know the place where you can get a box of kellogs frosted flakes for 5.00...that is where you would pick up your purchases...

people into thinking they could get a REAL box of frosted flakes for the
mere pittance of $5.00! I don't pay that much at home, I always
wait for the Safeway Club Card Buy one get one Free! I have serious issues
with paying as much for a box of cereal as a steak!!!

With that said, I would have to say that I LOVE not having to carry packages around all day at the parks! Photos can get wet, bent, or lost... the same with any other thing you purchase. With that in mind, I try to do all of my shopping BEFORE my last day so that I can take advantage of this perk!!!

How about if you're splitting your stay, do they automatically know to send it on to the next resort?

I really have to remember all this, especially being able to ship large things directly home!

Someone posted a few weeks ago, that you can take all your purchases aLong with reciepts, to your hotel gift shop, and have them packaged togethter to be shipped home. Has anyone done this. Sounds great.

I already plan on purchasing at least one snowglobe, and def. don't want to take on the plane. If I can throw the other stuff along with it, it will make the trip home much nicer.
