We bought in at Kidani last month with 160 pts and close this friday :) We already know we want more points, would it be smarter to buy more points now before we close or wait a few months and add on? Im not sure how confusing it would be to add on points there at the last minute. We are taking our first dvc trip in March and dont want it to mess up our reservation or anything. Thanks!

I was in the same boat and added additional points at the last minute. What they did for me was put the second group of points in a seperate contract so it didn't mess up the original paperwork. They were able to give me the same incentive price as the original purchase even though the "add on" contract didn't qualify on it's own.

If you are comfortable with the price you paid, it's no trouble adding on now. If you wait the incentive will change. It could be better or worse. Nobody knows.

If you have not closed, I would probably add on now. It won't do anything to the reservation (I did that last year).

Plus, the incentives will be based on the total purchase. You can even get them in small contracts, but if you do it all under one purchase time, you may get a better deal.

For example, if you added on another 100 points, it would bring you to 260. You might even save a bit to do this.

If you wait, and add on 100 points in a month from now, you will only qualify for what they are giving for that level.

I would call your guide and discuss it. Mine was always very happy to rewrite the contract when I said I wanted to make it bigger!!!

It depends on where you are buying and if you get a better deal buying resale. :) Bill

I would add on now, I sure wish we would have thought about that when we bought, now we are in the boat of adding on and have to come up with the down payment again.

If you can afford, I think I'd add on now. Esp if you can get 2 contracts. The smaller contracts are easier to unload if/when you decide to sell.

If you only put the min. to meet the 10% down then yes you'll need to add to the down payment.
