"But Mom, I want to come back to WDW!"

Aw, Heidi, you whole family is so darn cute!!!!! :grouphug:

I LOVE the pics.

and then took our very first ride on the monorail to the Contemporary

:lmao: We actually call the monorail a "ride" and make sure we hit it at least once while we're there. Last year, we actually got STUCK on the ride! It totally stopped for 15 minutes right out front of the Poly. I got on my cell phone and got some work done ;)

We took the girls out to the balcony to show them the view of Magic Kingdom and the castle. I wouldn’t want to stay at the Contemporary but it would be neat to be able to watch the fireworks from your resort.

We've always found the resort sterile but our absolute favorite (no "U" in favorite down south here :) ) restaurant in the world is located up top... The California Grill. We time it so we can watch the fireworks from our table while we dine. They turn down the lights and pipe in the music. It's awesome. We did Citricos last year and were disappointed. It's back to Cal Grill for us in March.

Back in April when I made my ADR’s, I had no expectations of any of the restaurants chosen, as we’d never been before. We just didn’t have any idea what character dining was all about. Cinderella’s Royal Table was certainly one of the highlights of our trip, however, Chef Mickey’s beat CRT hands down because of the fun from the delighting in the smiles on my DD’s faces.

Chef Mickey's IS hard to beat. We also like the Garden Grill in Epcot for Characters. They bring big plates of food to your table and the entire restaurant slowly rotates as you look down on parts of the "Living with the Land" attraction.

Your girls are probably too old but you guys may want to try the Akershus (Epcot - Norway) Princess breakfast next time you are down. The food is REALLY good and you can time it for about 10 a.m. and skip lunch. This is where Moan Boy ate about 17 strips of bacon :confused3

What do ya mean "THINKING" of doing a trip report????

You just HAVE to write another one. Your last trippie was one of my favourites - it was so funny!!!

She will chime in on my report for sure but she was actually thinking of doing her own. She will play a larger role in our dual report come March.

Keep up the good work blue!!! :yay:  :yay:  :yay:

Paige - you're such a sweety. :grouphug: back at ya!

I guess you'll be making plans yourself to go to CM's in September? What other restaurants do you plan to dine at? Do you have other favourites?

Well I do have the same camera as him so I won't say anything bad about his pics!

:lmao: Speaking of cameras, we'd like to buy another lens before our next trip (telephoto). Any recommendations for a good but inexpensive one?

WOA - I'm not sure I'd like that! I wouldn't like being stuck on any ride. I've read about it a few times on the boards - sure glad it didn't happen to us. :scared:

OH......see something else I didn't know! I'm sending Linnie an email later today with a few questions/recommendations about dining.

Didn't the 17 strips of bacon make him sick???

When I said YOU have to write another TR - I did mean BOTH of you. "The Man Report" wouldn't be the same without the two of you commenting. That was one of the reasons I found your last TR so humourous :dance3:

You two worked well together - wish my DH would take a bigger interest in the whole TR thing. :sad2: I can't complain too much because at least I have JoJo princess:

You and Linnie are troopers for hanging in with me for so long!

Nope! He was just gettin' warmed up! :sad2:

And she does a good job. Too bad Goofy doesn't join in the fun. She's probably too busy chasing lizards and seals out in the backyard, right?

We loved Chef Mickey's too!! I get a little choked up when I see the characters for some reason and can't speak for a minute or so until it passes. I nearly started bawling the first time I saw the red party bus with all the characters in Epcot. :lmao:

The character meals are my favorites. I loved CRT and the princess one at Akershus. So much fun! I loved The Land too. It's a revolving restaurant-have you tried that? It's well worth it. Great food and atmosphere. The characters come by and they're dressed up like farmers kind of. LA called the chipmunk "ChipandDale" like that was his name. ChipandDale threw our bread at the kids, pretended to eat their food and drink their drinks. They loved it-we were all laughing. I highly recommend it.

Your pictures are awesome! It makes me so eager to go back! I'm getting "homesick" for it just looking at your pictures. You have such a beautiful family-what great memories!! Everyone looks so happy! :cutie: I always make a scrapbook of our vacation and decorate it with stuff I buy at World of Disney or MouseGears. So we have all these photo albums of our years at Disney. Kind of lame, but I like doing it. It's fun to look back at them all and see how we've changed.

The first thing I thought of when I saw your monorail picture was when we got stuck last year! It seemed more like 45 mins that we were stuck- not 15 as Buzz reported! Trey was starting to bug out and I was a little nervous. We were waaaaay up high off the ground. My kids love the monorail-they love to see the different colors of the stripes and really think it's a "coup" when they see one with the splat! Strange little nuts I've got...

Great trip report! I love hearing it!! I'll definitely do one with Buzz. I was thinking of doing my own, but I think I'll just chime in on his as usual-gotta set the record straight!!

Just getting warmed up on 17 pieces of bacon?????? Boy he must have an iron stomach!!!!!!! All that grease :faint: Even if I only have a few pieces I still have to take rolaids.

I wish Goofy would join in the fun but she doesn't have the desire or interest. Would you believe she hasn't even read the TR? Hasn't even been to the site - but neither has my DH.

We don't have seals OR lizards where we live - wish we did! We do have otters but seldom see them. I managed to capture a picture of an otter in January coming out of the river but it was taken through my living room window and the quality isn't that great. JoJo was home sick that day and the two of us were scrambling to get the camera as quickly as we could so we wouldn't miss it. See what excites a Canadian Country Bumpkin family in the middle of a deep freeze! Pretty lame...I know. LOL

Linnie - I have no idea what you are talking about when you say "the red party bus" in Epcot :confused3

I've come to realize we missed a lot on our trip :sad2:

We haven't tried the revolving restaurant and I'm so glad you mentioned it because I'm sure it will be a hit with the girls on our next trip! It's kind of exciting that we'll have new stuff to see and do. I'm going to start writing down these little tidbits of information in a notebook so that we don't forget them.

Thank you so much for your kind words about my family
I don't think you're lame at all for creating a scrapbook - I plan to do the same thing as soon as I finish this TR. I want to add the trip report so I haven't yet started it. Another project that will take me months to finish :lmao:

All that talk about scrapbooking and memories made me go and dig out our old pictures from our ONE day trip to the MK in 1994 when JoJo was only 9 months old. I scanned a few and I'm going to post them shortly.

Otters are cute like the dancing banana  Being from Montana makes us more Country Bumpkin than you guys. We've got that "deep freeze" thing going on also. Maybe not as bad as you guys who have 11 1/2 months of winter, but cold nonetheless.

You need another trip to WDW.

The red party bus is awesome. In Epcot, usually in World Showcase, a red bus pops out loaded with Disney Characters who all wave and dance to the music coming from the bus. Brings a tear to my wife whenever she sees it. We see it a lot as we spend half our time at Epcot.

ummmm......ya........of course.......I knew it.
Seriously, sometimes it's hard to tell with your sense of humour. :lmao:

When I woke up this morning, it was -39C with the windchill which is -38 in American I think. It did warm up somewhat today...now it's only -25C/-13F!

I'm waiting for this cold snap to end so I can come out of hibernation.

I haven't written about our visit to Epcot yet....I know we missed a lot there and I am looking forward to seeing everything we missed when we return.

Our trip this year may be our last for awhile so I have to make it a good one. :(

(Unless I can talk DH into yet another visit - doubtful though)

If you think about it, is there really any reason NOT to go to Disney?

I mean, you don't HAVE to go park hopping. I long for the days when my kids are older and no longer want dad hanging out with them while they troll the parks for other teens. I'll do other things...

I could simply hang out at the beach (YC, BC or Poly) or the beautiful pools, play the awesome putt-putt golf courses or one of the 5 eighteen hole courses, rent a boat :boat: for the day and either fish or go water skiing, relax on the balcony and read a book, visit the Kennedy Space Center (or Universal, or Sea World) drive to Tampa for the day, camp at the Ft. Wilderness campground & make fires and BBQ, take in La Nouba again, make my own virtual roller coaster and ride it at DisneyQuest, or simply do nothing but lay in the sun all day gulping down beer until... :drinking1

...wait... that last part's only fun for me. Forget I said it.

What I'm saying is that there is a lot more to do at Disney than the parks. I met a gentleman from England whose kids were all grown up and out of the house who still makes the annual trip to Disney to "hang out." He hadn't been to the theme parks in 4 years. He told me he just liked the atmosphere, service, and cleanliness of Disney.

I spend a lot of my free time figuring out how to Disney "cheaply". That's one of the reasons we purchased DVC... to save money in the long haul. There are a ton of ways to do it too. This website is the perfect place to start finding a lot of "deals". Take pride in seeing how extravagant of a vacation you can have on as little money as possible. That "free dining" sure does help!! :smooth:

I guess what I'm saying is that you have to "sell" Canuk-Grump from year-to-year. Don't give up! Get your one year commitment, plan like crazy, then when you get home, begin the "selling" once again. How in the heck do you think I've been gettin' Linnie The Pooh-head :duck: to come down with me for the past 11 years?

By The Way: I've been a member of this website almost 7 years longer than you, have done at least 4 trip reports, yet you have more posts than me. What gives????

If you think about it, is there really any reason NOT to go to Disney?

Buzz - You are so right! DH and I have said some of the exact same things you posted. He has no arguments about the "where" to go - it's more about the money. We've been renovating our home and since our trip last year and now again this year, that has kinda come to a stop and it really needs to be finished.

He also has his heart set on buying a new toy. The last toy he bought was a pontoon boat and before that it was two personal water crafts, a Seadoo and a Jetski. We sold those because ... welp ... he crashed into me while we were out riding one day. But that's another story.

Anyhow, this time, I think he either wants to buy an old car and restore it or a 4-wheeler or maybe a motorbike....this changes monthly :rotfl2: Either way, I doubt I'll be able to "sell" him for a third year in a row.

As for the number of my posts, I've recently started hanging out on a few threads on the Community Board.

Thanks to Linnie’s reply regarding scrapbooks and memories, I decided to post a few pics of JoJo from our ONE day trip to the World in 1994. We were visiting my brother in Sarasota and only had enough money to stay for one night and chose to spend the day at the Magic Kingdom.

She was such a little darling and loved all the characters except for Captain Hook. I wish I had a picture of him with her because she started crying and wanted nothing to do with him whatsoever. It was very comical. What a mean mom eh?

Well I was finally able to catch up on your report, didn’t feel much like working today anyway. I am really enjoying your report, and the way jojo jumps in is great. All my kids do is read it and then give me the “Jeezze Dad”.

Sounds like you guys had as much fun as we did, my DW and I were able to spend a lot of time by ourselves this trip just walking around and doing the things that we wanted to do. There is nothing better then spending time in the World with your kids, but it is also really nice to spend time with your better half.

I have to say the whole Typhoon Lagoon, Fries and Birds thing, was funny (Sorry), I could so see that happening to my DW, that is just the type of luck she has and her reaction would have been the same as yours.

Keep em coming

nice pictures mother:goodvibes
dont i just look so cute everyone? :cutie:

Of course you do sweetie! I love all the pics you post blue, it was very neat to get to see the ones of JoJo as a baby too...adorable!!

Thanks Goofster! JoJo originally started writing her own version of our trip but gave up very early on. She found it to be too much work and then just decided to follow mine and add her own comments from time to time.

I'm enjoying your trip report also but you're churning it out so fast it's hard to keep up :thumbsup2
