Busy?

Is the last week or so of April typically busy for DVC? We just bought into it, own at SSR, and we're looking into going to WDW next April over April Vacation. I'm trying to convince my mom and stepdad to stay at one of the other resorts though, instead of SSR, because I want to be more in the middle of things (and it's my last trip before graduation so I think they MIGHT listen to me). We don't know though, what our chances would be like of getting something besides SSR, since we'd have to wait until 7 months out.

I got a BWV standard for April 21 to 25 at the 7 month mark.

You are lucky that Easter is in March next year, so it shouldn't be crowded at the end of April. I don't think you will have any trouble with ressies 7 months out. Had you asked the same question last year or the year before, when Easter was the middle-end of April, you would have gotten a very different answer!! So there is no "typical" about April--everything depends upon Easter, and a week or two on either side of it. The crowds are horrible at Easter every year, and next year will be the worst, because there are the "floating" Easter vacationers, and those of us with a "fixed" Easter vacation all going to Florida at the same time. I wouldn't go at that time, if I were you. I will be there at that time because that's my vacation.

Thanks! I had forgotten about the whole Easter factor. We always have school vacation the last week or so of April, usually dependent on Mass's schedule (almost never the same week as then). We love it then, and I'm definitely going to use this info in my argument as to why we should stay somewhere besides "home".
