How are the crowds in late April and early May?

I've sneakily worked on my wife for the last week or so and convinced her that we could have a cheap(ish) week in the sun around then. We would want to avoid school holidays and the associated crowds.

we've been in early May and the crowds weren't bad at all....(late May around Memorial Day weekend is bad, but not early May).....

early May is definitely a nice time to go (i assume also late April, since you're past the spring holidays)...

Late April through early May would be our ideal time to go, if we were not restricted by school holidays.

A good balance of nice weather and fairly low crowds, just avoid Easter.

I'll be there at that time too and it should be a good combination of weather and crowd levels as Johnny and others say :sunny:

The italics on 'should' are because I have been known to be a bit of a jinx in the past on the weather ;)

In five Sept/October trips we've had four hurricanes and 9/11 so I'm more or less resigned to the weather.

Thanks for the replies, work committments mean its 28th April for a week. I can taste the Wendy's already!

I think I've just met my jinx match then ;)

I've managed: 9/11, one hurricane, one tropical storm and the first week of last June when they had a whole month's rain average in one week and almost no sun!

I'm sure we're both due for wonderful weather at the end of April/early May :rolleyes1
