I also got the Christmas Green and Christmas Red ones. I put the leters on them to spell Merry Christmas and threaded them thru silver string. I am going to hang them in our hotel window.

Awesome idea!

Unfortunately, this may actually cut into their take-home pay because a certain amount of what they make is probably based on how low they keep their costs. This may not be the deal with the paint reps for HD but it is a typical arrangement in that industry. Someone (sorry, I'm having to read through too quickly to catch names) disagreed with my estimate of 50 cents each but my DH said that those regular paint strips that show a family of colors come in a package of 25 and generally cost about $12.50 per package. Can't say for sure, of course, but it stands to reason that the Mickey paint chips are going to be at least that since they are unusual and anything Disney is usually a little more expensive.

Paging Bicker....where are you? We need to know how much this affects the economy so we can decide if we are stealing. Not that I have any of those Mickey Head-thingies myself. :rolleyes1

You'll all be happy to know - or MOST of you that is - that the Greenville, NC Home Depot was OVERFLOWING with Alien Green PC's today...Note the key word in the sentence is WAS --- MWAHW HAHAHA HAHAHH pirate:

My little pirate and I pillaged today...and not to worry, concerned citizens, we left plenty for others!!

Hmmmm....hadn't thought of the Christmas colors for our December trip though...

HONEY...need anything at Home Depot tomorrow!?!?!?!?! :teeth:

:rolleyes1 Just thought I'd point out that I made a little trip to Home Depot tonight while killing time waiting for our table to be available out Outback.....picked up a little something....ok, a few little somethings. ;)

You guys are cracking me up.

Personally I am not worried about cutting in Behr's or HD's bottom line. We spend a lot of money there. Just recently we bought over $500 of Behr paint to paint the outside of our house. We've even bought the Disney colors for inside paint projects. I don't think it's stealing to take something that is being offered for free. They make them in those cute Mickey shapes just so people will take them! LOL

Can someone please tell me what everyone does with all the paint chips? I get the lime green one used as a luggage tag, but beyond that....what do you DO with them?

Thanks!!!

Jana

Well, I went to HD last weekend to buy paint for my living room (very expensive paint too!), I thought I was entitled to a couple mickey heads. WELL!! When I went to snitch some (hmmm, snitch sounds so naughty! :teeth: ) they were ALL GONE! Soo, maybe I'll have to go back "for more dropcloths", or something, and will have to check again ;)

My HD always seem out of them lately. I don't know if Dis'ers keep taking them, or they ran out and are not restocking them.

Who paints a room that color anyway???????

I did grab a few pink and purple ones to use instead, I will just write Dis on them. After all my DD's room is those colors pink and purple. Opps, I just remembered that I didn't buy the paint at HD. I grabbed the chips and had them make it up and Sherman Williams instead because I liked the quality better. That makes me real bad doesn't it? :rotfl:

Well I supported HD and Behr this evening. I bought some Behr paint and also snagged a stack of Mickey's.

DS, a huge Buzz fan actually tried to convince us that Alien Green and Buzz Blaster Blue would make a FANTASTIC combination for his room. We are staying away from HD until that idea is truly out of his head. :goodvibes

So, the paint chips across the highway are safe, for now!

How are we going to live with the guilt?

Can we sleep at night?

This is terrible!

They're FREE and they're not bring wasted... People have even tried to pay for them, and their money is refused. So, the point is, there's NOTHING wrong with taking them. We're SUPPOSED to take them.

Tonight was the first night I was introduced to AGMH's. I am glad to know I have something else besides lime green clothing that will identify myself as a DISer.

:disrocks:

That is too funny! :rotfl2:

I got a few last week, my first ones. I must admit I was a little nervous and quickly scooped up about 4 and hightailed it out of the paint section.

Hi all, Going to be near the Home Depot this week, hope I can control myself. I may need to go in as I need a few things for work on the house. I may need to rescue a few more "Mickey's" from the display. I also had a thought, maybe Home Depot should put the Mickey's in locked glass cases as they are becoming very valueable. :cool1: So I will yet again be guilty :guilty: of taking a few Mickey's.

Also any more ideas on what other things to use them for would be great.

Thanks:thumbsup2

It doesn't matter if Home Depot is or is not paying for these samples. The bottom line is SOME BODY DOES and it's NOT the people grabing hand fulls of them to decorate thier Disney Resort Windows.
Yes but chances are you are buying something at HD and went there because you could pick up some paint samples. If HD wanted to save paper costs they can supply the paint samples cheaper than the credit card applications and replacement window brochures they are constantly wanting me to fill out. I have not taken the samples but that's what they are samples. They can always make them square if they have such a problem stocking them. I just don't see lime green Mickey heads putting HD out of business. :rotfl:
If I was getting some I would say I am getting these lime green paint samples because I like them. Free is free folks.

Maybe, just maybe, but with DD's room Sleeping Beauty Pink, I think DH was hoping for a softer color! LOL

Anyway, with our upcoming trip to WDW, painting has to wait until January.

Got mine this weekend! Of course DH thought I was nuts. I even picked up a few other colors for him and the kids. Thought I'd use them for some surprises I am making for our trip.

I've done it! I confess. I offered to pay---they said they were free. So yes, I helped myself to several. I'm really a "good Southern Baptist" and try to teach my children well. I've also "taken" towel animals! My children loved them. When I was in second grade, my mother asked the butcher at the grocery store for a few of those little foam meat trays for me. They were for a Christmas art project at school. That may be where my "life of crime" started! Really, I would NEVER take a gallon of paint or a towel from a store, but I don't consider bringing home a paint chip or the animal towels stealing. Let's all just take a deep breath and relax! Life is short!--------As for what I did with my Mickey Heads-------I cut them out and sewed sequins and beads along the edge and then made a little beaded string for a loop. Then I used them on the tree I took to Disney for our Dec. trip. I also beded some heads and sewed them on the tree skirt. It was cute and a real surprise for our children.

Now, we just need someone to come up with a craft to combine the free mickey heads and the free paint stir sticks.
