Busses during Christmas week?

Hubby and I had to cancel our August trip because he was laid off, but we've also been given hope that the lay off might not stick and he might have a job when school starts again. This gives us hope that we might be able to turn our August trip into a Christmas trip. Because of school holidays, we can only go during the really busy times of the year, so I'm talking about the week between Christmas and New Year's. Since it costs LOTS more for us to go then, we're thinking of cutting out the rental car.. but I'm wondering if we'd be miserable without one this time of year. How is Disney transportation when crowds are this crazy? I've never used the transportation, except for once to MK, so I'm pretty clueless overall. We'd be staying at POP.

I prefer using Disney transportation anyway, but there is no way I'd want to mess with driving during such a busy week. If you're driving and the park you want to go to is at a stage 1 closing (which is fairly likely), you will not be able to enter the parking lot.

We've been to Disney the week of Christmas. And really, while crowds are heavier, the Disney buses are so great. I would wager to guess that you'll get back to your hotel quicker using Disney buses than driving yourself. :D

We never waited more than 15 or 20 minutes for a bus when we were there during that week last year; most waits were shorter.
