I read somewhere about making up business cards for the kids to hand out to new friends they make while on the cruise with their contact info.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to include on the card? Email address for sure, but I am kind of uneasy about putting on our home address and/or phone number.

Has anyone used this idea in the past - what did you use on the card?

Thanks,

Tammy

Maybe first name, email, home town & state? Last initial if the 1st name is common?

That's a cute idea. I miss having business cards. My husband has 2 sets, one for his main job & one for his freelance writing. Maybe I'll make some for me - Gillian, SAHM!

I know I'm probably going to get  'd for this BUT.....
Last year I made up DIS Business Cards to hand out to the new friends that I made on the CRUISETOBERFEST. It worked out well cause who carries a pen and paper with you when you are enjoying a nice cruise. It's nice when you want to get back in touch after the cruise (Christmas Cards, etc).

I know given the state of things these days we should be very skeptical of people, BUT I really don't think there are many axe murderers that take the Disney Cruise!

They are also useful to have a few laminated to use as luggage tags or to put on your cameras, etc. (Everyone has the same disposable underwater cameras I swear!)

Just let your kids have ones that don't carry quite so much info ... only their names and e-mail address till you are more comfortable with their new friends.

Have a very MICKEY Day!

How about the Disney Cruise logo --- or their Favorite Disney Character Logo. Then list their FIRST names only and their email addresses. You could also include their IM screen name if they have one. Under their name maybe list their hobby's and /or activities to personalize it even more. I would refrain from listing last name, address, or phone number. This is something that they might want to give out later to VERY close friends from the cruise --- possibly after they are home and conversing by email. Don't forget to make a few out for YOURSELF too!

In april I also listed the web address for here at the DIS Boards on my cards.
:D

I know I posted this somewhere else before, but seeing this thread, I felt I should post it again.

There is a website << www.vistaprint.com >> where you can custom order "business" cards and only pay shipping. The last time I ordered it was about $5 for 250 cards. The quality is excellent.

They have many designs and you can put anything you want on any of the lines. I ordered cards for our family and have been using them at campgrounds to allow us to stay in touch with people we have met this summer.

We have used homemade business cards on our trips before and received some as well. As mentioned you don't normally have pen and paper when meeting new friends on board so they come in handy.
On ours I normally put our first and last names, our state, our email address, the URL for Disboards and my board name. I use the SC state flag as a background and make mention of the Clemson tigers. If we feel comfortable with our new friends by weeks end we may add our address.
We have two from folks we met last year.

Something else we are considering doing this year is to take SC flag pins to give to our dinner companions on the first night. We thought we may attach them to our business cards.

Anything to promote friendships.
