wear your Bush-Cheney shirt at WDW?

We're from MASS, so wearing it around here is like wearing a bullseye.

(Although I am heartened to see so many Bush bumper stickers on cars here!)

If I was heading down to WDW I'd be wearing mine. And as you point out, wearing it here IS like wearing a bullseye.

I say wear it! People are having too much fun to worry about what others wear. I'd wear my Kerry/Edwards shirts.

:)

I certainly would wear it to WDW. Although I'm in NYC this week and didn't have the guts to wear it here :(

Walking through Soho today, I walked passed a building that someone had spraypainted, in pink lettering: Osama votes Kerry.

ABSOLUTELY! We are going to be there but I don't have one to wear - but I think I will wear my button all week!

I don't know. There are a lot of looney tunes out there (on both sides of the fence). IMO, I wouldn't provoke anyone on the other side. Things could get volatile.

I'd just let my vote speak for itself.

Wear it if you want to but I think they should only allow "Mickey For President" shirts in the most magical place on Earth. Just my .02!:p

If I had a shirt and felt like wearing it I would. Wouldn't matter which person I was supporting.

Yep, You Betcha I'd Wear Mine!
Not to antagonize, mind you,
just that I'm sick of some people
who can't agree to disagree...

You have a right to wear your bush shirt where you want. I personally would avoid wearing politcal shirts at Disney because I know if I did it would offend half the people there (I'm a Kerry supporter) and I see no reason to intentionally irritate people at such a happy place...but that's just me. My parents taught me (and I believe they are correct) that there are three subjects that should be handled carefully and not brought up in the company of people you don't know well: sex, religion and politics. Of course, it is America, and you have a right to wear your political clothing. My personal take on it is this: Why bring politics into Disney? Wouldn't it be nice to just have a vacation where everybody can just "be" without highlighting the things that have divided America? Just let it go for a few days and have a happy vacation without worrying about the election.

Here's an idea...when you get to Disney and make your first stop a gift shop at Downtown Disney. Buy yourself several Disney T-shirts and wear them for the duration of your visit. I bet you a thousand dollars that you will feel happier wearing them than wearing a "statement" that will likely create animosity in half the people around you.

::yes::

At MGM on Saturday I saw both Bush and Kerry shirts. No biggie. It didn't take away from my magical day.

Sure. I don't have one as I'm not particularly fond of either candidate enough to warrant wearing a t-shirt, but I think as long as it was just a regular BUSH CHENEY 04 type shirt, the kind that look like the banners and are not really offensive in any way I don't see a problemw ith it.

Likewise, if some has one of the Kerry Edwards 04 shirts that looks like the banner I don't see a problem with that.

As long as it is not inflamatory I can't imagine anyone having a problem with it.

Shirts with crude sayings, swears or pictures of violent acts or nudity are another thing though. I don't know if there are any political shirts out there mocking either side that contain these but those I would not wear period, let alone to a family theme park.
This is my biggest pet peeve at WDW. I'll never forget the 12 year old boy with his parents wearing a shirt that said :
I Love (derogatory word for an "easy" woman)'s

or the kid who looked about 9 wearing a shirt with a nude biker woman on it.

i agree, but you should wear it if you want.

honestly, if i saw a lot of bush or kerry stuff when i was at wdw, i would probably be upset. i go to wdw for escapism.

How is a shirt that just says the name of a candidate offensive?

I mean, I could see if it was a negative statement or a mocking picture, but I just don't understand how anyone can get that worked up over seeing the opposing candidates name on a shirt?

you have a right to wear what you want when you want; I would avoid wearing it at Disney, because you are at the happiest place on earth and that would be inviting possible unwanted conversations.

Youre on vacation - enjoy it without politics (I know it's hard because of all of the commericals they are running here).
Take a moment from the politics and enjoy splash mountain!

Also, you will notice alot of W stickers on personal vehicles around the state of fL. I can't tell you how many Bush stickers we saw on cars this past weekend - for every 20 bush stickers there was one kerry sticker.

Again - enjoy WDW and try and leave the politcs out.

My parents taught me that you can talk about politics with anyone if you're respectful.

If you want to wear the shirt, wear it. I wouldn't because I'm not that adamant a supporter. But I certainly wouldn't be irritated by a bunch of people wearing a Kerry/Edwards shirt.
