Bush speaking from the Azores......Now

I see some foreign dude, not the President.
That is PM Tony Blair at the moment (12:47 PM CST). President Bush spoke earlier when I made the OP.

Dan, I know who Tony Blair is. LOL

When I turned channels when you first posted this, Bush was on NBC but on MSNBC and FOX it said "LIVE" at the top and it was a dark haired foreign guy.

Now I see Blair on MSNBC and FOX and Arena football on nbc. :D

It was the Spanish Prime Minister, wvjules.

Tony Blair is quite a good speaker, isn't he?

Blair noted that some nations oppose any ultimatum to Saddam. The result, he said, is that the Iraqi leader is playing a game that “he has played over the last 12 years. Disarmament never happens but instead the international community is drawn into some perpetual negotiation,” he said.

“Tomorrow is the day we will determine if diplomacy can work,” Bush said. “These are his decisions to make and thus far he has made bad decisions.”

President Bush.........
France has shown its cards by vowing veto

I watched....I guess we'll see tomorrow.

Tomorrow is our last day of peace. :( Lets all pray for those that will be in harms way. Both our soldiers and the Iraqi people. I pray it will be short and not cost too many their lives.:(

What are various things (besides an announcement of war) could this statment mean? He can't very wel declare war tomorrow with inspectors still there.

They just stated on FOX that the inspectors can be out in a matter of hours. :(

We spoke with our son early this moring (from Kuwait). He was told by his commanding officer that when they wake tomorrow morning, they will have a pretty good idea of what the week ahead holds for them. They are 9 hours ahead, so it's just after midnight there. All of these statements are being made, and they're sleeping. :(

Oh Common' JoeThaNo1Stunna!!! Don't be so vague! Tell us what you REALLY think!!!

:D

This is about the resolution we proposed a few weeks back demanding Saddam disarm by March 17th. . . Bush stated in no uncertain terms 10 days ago he would ask for a vote on it last week in order to force all the countries involved to "put their cards on the table" and said there was no way he would withdraw the proposal. .

But he didn't ask for the vote, and Colin Powel said taking the proposal off the table was certainly an option they were considering. .

But now since tomorrow is March 17th, obviously Bush has to either call for a vote, pull it, or let it die. . . it doesn't look like he has the necessary votes for a majority, but if he does he might call for the vote and put France on the spot of having to veto it. . if on the other hand he calls for the vote and it goes badly and the majority votes against it, then he is stuck with having to back off or go in without even a claim of a "moral victory".

Perhaps tomorrow will be "the last chance" or the "day of truth". . but we've heard that a few times before this. . .

They are still negotiating; very hard to predict what will happen, but my guess is there will some kind of last second, new proposal giving the disarming another couple weeks that we'll go along without of respect for Tony Blair. .

Just my opinion of course. . :)

Beast...I think what Stunna is trying to say is.......

L'amour est dans l'air

Tomorrow is our last day of peace.

Our last day of peace was 9/10/01.:( We have been at war ever since the attack of the World Trade Center.

The war maybe spreading as of tommorrow.

Lets all pray for those that will be in harms way. Both our soldiers and the Iraqi people. I pray it will be short and not cost too many their lives.

I totally agree!:(

And give up my career as a moderator??? No way Bet. . ;) :teeth:

Seriously, let me add that whatever happens tomorrowor down the road, our men and women in the military have my prayers for a safe return home as soon as possible. .
