Bush at 36%, how low can he go?

Dear Nostradamus,

You're not wrong, or you don't THINK you're wrong?

Mistyped...lol...See the edited version, already posted.

But nice try.

Really? Point to one. Point to a SINGLE "personal attack" I have made in response to a reasoned post (and not just in response to more of the same. I GUARANTEE you you can't do it.

So come on. Put up or shut up.

ETA: If you can manage to do that, I will absolutely apologize to the person I was responding to, on the spot.

Insinuating (well, saying it outright) that someone thought they were "Nostradamus" fits nicely.

Calling someone who is predicting the future "Nostradamus" is not an insult, it is an accurate description.

lol...That's all you could come up with? An offhand comment to a poster that has a long history of insulting everyone on these boards that doesn't agree with his narrow view of how the world should be (preferably white, straight, and absolutely christian)?

Yeah...You'll have to do a little better than that, I'm afraid, to prove that I'm the "master of the personal attack". :rotfl2:

No, I THINK I captured the original intent of your mindset before you edited it out of that post Oops, I captured it in my quote didn't I?). You believe that every other opinion other than one that mirrors yours is wrong and you belittle that person. Nothing new from you, we expect it.

I've never understood this kind of "thinking". Do I think any opinion that is different from mine is wrong? Of COURSE I do. If I thought their opinion was right, I would probably hold the same opinion.

As for "belittling" anyone that feels differently, I'm still waiting on you to put up or shut up on that. If I do it so often, it shouldn't be too hard to prove. If someone posts a reasoned post, I respond in kind. I've been doing it a lot longer than you've been around this place (at least, under that particular user name).

So, anything to say that actually pertains to this thread, or are you just here to :stir: ?

I have neither the time nor the inclination to research this thread or your posts. We know who you are and what you represent. I THINK you are a terrorists best friend, that's all. I THINK that folks with a mindset such as yours are an impediment to freedom and security.

But I'm no Nostradamus such as yourself.

Figures. :teeth:

A "terrorists best friend" ? :rotfl: Wow. Not even sure how to respond to that. I have my honorable discharge in a folder 2 feet from where I'm sitting. Where's yours?

What is the significance in the proximity of your discahrge papers to where you are presently sitting?

Simply this: you and Joe and others act like you have a monopoly on patriotism. As if the only way we can be patriotic and love our country is if we swallow the lies and support this war that is nothing more than a drain on our resources when they could MUCH better be used elsewhere.

My point was simply that, although you claim to love this country so much, practically NONE of you have ever actually served this country. I have. I spent five years in one of the buildings that was attacked on 9-11, and I'm proud to have done so.

So for someone like you to call ME a "terrorists best friend" is a flat-out joke, and a sad one at that.

You don't know this Nostradamus, you assume this.

Maybe someone in this discussion has been serving their country for say, oh, 25 years. Would their opinion count, or do they need to first clarify their position with you O' Wise One??

Your opinion would count either way. What makes me nauseous is that you think you have a corner on patriotism, and that it's necessary to support the imbecile in the white house to be a patriot.

So, you've been serving for 25 years? Congratulations. It doesn't change my point that MOST of the chickenhawks (the entire Bush administration, for example) have done no such thing. And either way, it doesn't give you a right to make a comment like that without being called on it.

Nostradamus, why do you have to refer to President Bush as an imbecile?? That's not very respectful of him, our country, or the office. It's ok to say he's completely wrong or whatever, but you could show a little respect, at least for the office.

I THINK that if it were left up to folks like you, we would be far less secure and much less safe in our homeland. Because you and yours are not in the majority, I am ever thankful.

That your words give comfort to the terrorists, I THINK you are the best American friends they could hope for.

Something has always bugged me about the 2004 election

Why is it that of the top 10 "smartest" states
1. Vermont
2. Connecticut
3. Massachusetts
4. New Jersey
5. Maine
6. Minnesota
7. Virginia
8. Wisconsin
9. Montana
10. New York

Only two voted Republican in the last election.

Also the "dumbest" states.

31. Ohio
32. Illinois
33. Utah
34. West Virginia
35. Kentucky
36. Florida
37. Arkansas
38. Oregon
39. Oklahoma
40. Georgia

41. Tennessee
42. Hawaii
43. Alabama
44. Alaska
45. Louisiana
46. California
47. Nevada
48. New Mexico
49. Mississippi
50. Arizona

All but 3 voted Republican. I am about to start a project in my political science class between the direct correlation of education to voting results. Let me know what you think

Certainly an interresting idea, but how does "student teacher relationship" (one of the criteria) equate to intelligence? Many of the other criteria are suspect as well.

It is interesting, though I wouldn't put much stock in the results.
