Should I just go to the bus stop at 8AM like it normally would for a regular opening or should I go earlier?

I would go earlier. If it takes half an hour for the bus to come that doesn't allow much time to get to the location of the PS.

We had a PS at Chef Mickey's for 8:10 a.m. We left our room by 7:25 and a bus was just pulling up as we got to the stop. We made our PS with time to spare.

We had a PS at Ohana's for 7:00 and we got there late....they still held our PS for us until we arrived.

So what I'm trying to say if you are 10-15 minutes late for your PS I'm sure they will still give you a table.

They really need to improve on the transportation at WDW. So much time is wasted waiting around and needing to allow so much time to get from point A to point B

Always be out at your bus stop 45 minutes prior to seating time. It won't take that long, but here's the breakdown.

15 minutes wait time, in case you just missed the bus
15 minutes travel time.
15 minutes walk time/Murphy's Law time.

See, I would tend to disagree. Keep in mind, Walt Disney World is twice the size of Manhattan. 15 minutes drive times is quite reasonable, and will be similar for both bus and car. 15 minutes possible wait time in between buses is not unreasonable. Most mass-transit systems have much larger headways. And 15 minutes walk time/murphy's law time is also not unreasonable. Disney wants you to arrive early.

Car travel times are often times very similar to bus travel times. Bus wait time is often replaced by toll plaza lines, finding a parking space, and parking trams.

Thanks Chip N Dale.

I know a lot of people "complain" about the transportation. It seems like there is some room for improvement. I do have 1 issue.....isn't there some way they can make the buses more stroller friendly? We found the buses that you just step right on to with the seats facing each other are more spacious. The ones with the 3 steps to go up and the direction of the seats makes for an awful ride when you have 3 kids and a stroller.

We are making them more stroller friendly. We just retired 35 of our older RTS buses (the ones with the steps, and narrow aisles), and took delivery of 45 brand new Gillig low-floor buses with the wide doors and aisles. Rumor has it, there are at least 25 more Gilligs on order, which will bring the total to 141 low-floor buses, and less than 150 RTS buses. (depending on how many more get retired)
