Buses between Water Parks?

Are there direct buses between Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon?

No. You'd have to go to a(ny) resort and change to tge bus for the other water park.

If your plan is to visit both water parks the same day, it would probably be worth it to take a cab from one to the other, by buses it will likely take well over an hour unless you are extremely lucky.
By cab probably 10 minutes at a cost of approx $15, IMO, worth it for the extra hour or so of time you will have at the park.

I think what we may do that day is to start the day at one park, take a break midday and head back to the resort then go to a second park that evening.

We've got 4 day tickets and a 5 day stay so it'll just depend on how we feel like spreading it out. We may take a midday break from a major park to hit up one of the water parks too.

Kind of surprised that there isn't a bus between the two water parks or that one bus doesn't take you to both though.

Couple of possible reasons:
Standard water park admission is per park, not per day - so having bus transportation between the two would just create angry guests.
They're not especially convenient to each other - the current "resort > Downtown Disney > Typhoon Lagoon" and "Blizzard Beach > Animal Kingdom" routing is most efficient.
Could just be that most guests don't visit the water parks one right after the other the same day.

Looking at the map now I understand. I never paid much attention to them before so I didn't really have a bead on where they were in relation to each other.

Looks like AoA is right in the middle of both, which is cool.

The water parks can take a bit out of ya too energy wise. Hitting one in the morning, taking a nap and then going back in the evening might be fun.

Yes, in fact, AoA and Pop are probably the best places to transfer between the 2 water parks.
