anyone else have a problem with this.

use to be just one lady at AKL/V - now it is all the Disney buses.

most of the buses were going 45 mph - when they could - and 50 mph if that was the speed limit - now they are all going 35 mph.

This... doesn't seem to be a problem? The roads there are designed such that 35 would be a far better speed with better stopping distance for a bus.

I spent this weekend at Kidani and the buses ran per usual, following the posted speed limit, and possibly even exceeding it on the way to MK and Epcot.

WDW has been advertising for bus drivers, and offering a sign on bonus, for some time.
My guess is that the new crop of drivers don't have the confidence to be somewhat aggressive in the WDW traffic.

Not sure about 35, but there clearly is a directive for them to operate slowly. I get it, safety is paramount, but it is noticeably annoying. The new policy of a snails pace in the bus loops is painful. At some point it crosses from prudent caution to ridiculousness.

I doubt that they go 35 MPH on World Drive, but some of the areas around WDW I can see it and that is not that much lower than the speed limits.

Buses have a longer stopping distance than a car. They are also more awkward in curves and turns.

They do the speed limit that's posted on the road they are driving on. That's why they're called speed limits!:confused3

Unfortunately, when we were there last month, we saw several buses that appeared to be going faster than the traffic around them. And when DH stepped into a crosswalk that wasn't far from a corner, a bus came around with the bus driver looking the other way. But most drivers are driving very defensively-sometimes I'm surprised there aren't more accidents caused by cars.

No need for the bus drivers to speed. I’m sure they go over 35 mph when it’s sAfe to do so and rhe speed limit is higher than 35.

First you have safety of course. Lots of times people are standing up on the buses.

Second I’m sure the bus drivers will get in trouble if people report they were speeding.

Third they get paid by the hour.

I’m pretty sure all the busses have GPS on them and Disney can see where they are and how fast they are going. I could be wrong.

Given all of the accidents with Disney transportation in recent memory, it makes sense to slow it down, in fact many of the speed limits around the resorts may be too high.

Most buses have lots of people standing, going too fast is not a good idea. If they need to stop quickly there could be many injuries. What's the rush, you're on vacation, relax and enjoy it. It's always more enjoyable without injury.
