I am not sure where to post this but How busy is BG ?? I am thinking about planning a side trip there (friday 4/29)and I'm wondering whether I should book one of the VIP tours just for FOTL. My Dh hates lines. We are all Rollercoaster addicts but I don't want to book the vip tour if the parks are dead. Also if anyone has used these tours, I'd love to hear your experiences. Any input is greatly appreciated :flower:

We were there a few weeks ago and it was quiet. We got there at opening and you could do the big coasters over and over again. It was a beautiful day and I was surprised how quiet the park was. It was our first time and we were really impressed with it.

We were there a few weeks ago on a Sunday and there were no lines. It was great!

Thanks for the replies, we won't be getting there till 10 and we will be going 4/29 which is a friday so I think I'll book the tour, just to be safe :flower:

I visit four times a year but have never seen lines. They are opening a new coaster in May and the line for this new ride will likely be long. The description is below. I hope it opens a bit early so you can ride it. By the way, I loved the food at the old Smokehouse.

"Coming May 2005, SheiKra will dive into Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. North America's first dive coaster, SheiKra is 200 feet up, 90 degrees straight down, and like nothing else in the world.

The name SheiKra evokes the power and speed of an African hawk as it twists and plunges - giving riders a 70 mph, adrenaline-pumping experience like no other. At 200 feet, SheiKra now takes the crown as Florida's tallest roller coaster. This thrill machine is also the tallest dive coaster in the world and the first of its kind to incorporate an Immelmann loop (a rolling maneuver), a second, 138-foot dive into an underground tunnel and a water-feature finale. SheiKra offers three minutes of over-the-edge excitement on more than half a mile of steel track.

SheiKra will serve as the centerpiece of Busch Gardens' newly themed Stanleyville area, which also includes the new 500-seat, indoor/outdoor Zambia Smokehouse. The restaurant is situated on the coaster's perimeter, allowing guests to be a part of the action while dining."

We are stay at the Embassy Suites BG for the first time next weekend. I hope it is OK.

At that time of year, you sometimes run into large school groups, it's a popular end of year field trip location.

As others have noted, my experience matches theirs. There has never been so busy that there are long lines during my visits. Enjoy the park.

What hotels do you guys stay at when visiting?

We'll be at SOG and either driving or taking the shuttle, not sure yet.

That's good that there aren't going to be any lines. I'm just wondering though, is two days good enough to see the whole entire park? (we're going in Nov. around Thanksgiving time)

i think it is great this thread was started, i am incorporating BG into our next trip, i suggested once a board for BG i mean they have Univ, IOA and Seaworld, nothing came out of it though

I agree, it's a great place - more than just another theme park. It should definately have it's own place!

My family of 5 went last year and everyone wants to go back this year. It's a fun park, but I have to say, it's very big and to me, it was connfusing to get around.....even with a map. HA

does anyone know if it is hard to get too off 528 how far on the express way is it.

For anyone that is interested Busch gardens revealed is going to be on the travel channel on 3/16 at 5:00 pm :cool1:
