Does anyone know how long it takes to get to Busch Gardens, and is it worth the journey!!

Is it disappointing after disney and universal or does it hold its own?

Please help, because we are'nt sure whether to make the effort

hi there,

busch gdns is just over an hour away and is very straightforward to find. We did visit it the last time we went as it was included on our flex ticket, but it is certainly worth a visit if you dont have a flex ticket. there are some great rides there and shows too. the only downside is on a hot afternoon all the animals seemed to be asleep in the shade and not doing very much (sounds good to me!!), but i am sure you will have a great time.

Hi Rachellay

Busch gardens is a great park. Being an hour away puts a lot of people off so it doesn't get as crowded as it would be if it was nearer. If you like coasters I think that the Montu is the best coaster ride in Florida. there is also Kumba another brilliant coaster and two smaller ones called (I think) python and scorpion. They also have a galleon swing ride where the ship goes right over the top. You can get quite close to some of the animals and participate at elephants bathtime. We didn't manage to fit Busch in this trip but will certainly visit again.

Rachel, I'd say it's definitely worth the effort. There's so much to do at Busch - pretty garden walks, decent shows, animals in the 'wild', free beer and every type of ride imaginable - from kiddies to coasters and dodgems in between.

Look here Busch Gardens

Allow 90 minutes from resort to front gate - there's a shuttle bus from SeaWorld if you prefer not to drive.

Gets our vote every time.

We love BG - this year will be the first in the last 4 that we won't be going:( . . . that's only because after Orlando we're travelling further down South:)

Busch Gardens is well worth the 90 minute drive. We really enjoyed it this September. Excellent thrill rides, wet (soaking wet) rides and lots of animals.

It is well worth paying the extra for the Serengeti Safari where you get driven in a truck into the savanah and get to feed giraffes and eland by hand. You can also stroke the giraffes. It will be in my trip report when I get that far.

If you like 'coasters, then you GOTTA do Busch Gardens. It offers a lot else as well, but you can easily spend the whole day just ridin'. Single rider lines were an absolute godsend when I was last there. From what I remember, it was about an hours drive - definitely well worth it.

Thanks a lot for all your replies and info, I will definately be making the trip when we are there next June.

I especially like the sound of the coasters(glutton for punishment)!!!!!
