Hi,

We haven't been to Busch Gardens before and everyone tells me I have to go as I will love the coasters there.
We have planned to go on a Wednesday which is one of Simon V's quiet days and at the start of May.
So what i'd like to know is, Will we be able to fit everything into one day or are there things we can avoid.

Thanks Debs
p.s. There are no kids.

If you can spend a full day there, I think you'll be able to cover most everything.

I haven't been in a while but we went on a busy day and waited in line quite a while for some attractions but still got to do most of the things we wanted.

I'm not keen on very big coasters so didn't enjoy it as much as the rest of my family who do, but If you like big rides then you should enjoy Busch!

I'm sure you'll get some replies from folk who have visited there more recently than I have.

Busch Gardens is one of our favourite parks, it has a bit of everything. Three great coasters, Montu, Kumba and Gwazi. Rhino Rally is also supposed to be a good ride, but wasn't open last time we were there. You also get a free beer sample, which is a bonus. The only thing that I didn't like much, was the fact that the animals didn't have much space. You should be able to get round easily enough in a day, especially with no kids.

Debs, Busch is one of our favourite parks as there is such a variety there to suit all tastes. We usually visit twice but that's coz we love it and we tend to do the same things mostly. If you get there first and leave last and miss out those attractions that don't appeal to you you should get round- just.

Here's the link in case you haven't seen their site.

BG, like SeaWorld, regularly have a "second day free" program, so it's worth thinking of taking two days. There are 3 great coasters there Montu, Kumba and Kwazi ( 4 if you count both sides of Kwazi which are different rides IMHO) 2 lesser coasters (Python and Scorpion), 3 water flumes and a host of "carnival" type rides. There is a new "show"/experience coming I think in spring where the dolphin show used to be and it's themed around a haunted lighthouse. The ice skating show is pretty good and Rhino rally is something I've still to make the whole show as either the water part has been broken or the queue has been too long for me to wait that long. There are walk throughs for the chimps+gorillas and also for the lions, hippos +hyenas (allow 30 minutes each) plus the train and cablecar rides to see over the " Serengetti" areas. Feeding the parakeetes can be fun as well. IMHO it's easy to stretch BG to full days by taking a little time over the animal exibits, shows and of course hospitality :jester: . When faced with a reasonable drive back (at least 75 minutes) I don't think the park lends itself to "commando" style park visitting and it's better, if possible, to take a little more time to do it in a more relaxed fashion.

:bounce: Hi acepepper, I also did not like the fact the animals didn't have a lot of room and I have not been back since my first visit eight years ago. We are going out to Florida in March and I am going to visit Bush Gardens. I understand there has been a lot of changes and additions since I was there last We go to Florida every year and each visit is more exciting than the last:wave:

Which animals are you talking about? The chimp and gorilla habitats are huge, and the animals on the savannah have thousands of Sq yards to wander around in. I would have agreed with that comment in the case of the dolphins, but they have been moved and the Orangs don't have a huge area, (but I'm not sure how much room they need) other than those I think BG has pretty reasonable areas for all their animals. It's never going to be as spacious as living in the wild, but I think BG makes a decent fist of it.
