Phoned Busch Gardens the other night to book for the Serengeti Safari.

The first point was that I had to ensure that there were giraffes on the tour. The very pleasant lady I spoke to assured me that not only were there giraffes, but that we could feed them leaves.
Suberb, I can see the brownie points building up.

I asked for 2 adults and 1 child, and was advised that I would receive e-mail confirmation.
Didn't receive any confirmation.

Next day having discussed (again) who wanted to go on the safari, I contacted Busche Gardens to see if they would add another child to the booking - no problem.
Now 2 adults and 2 children.
Confirmation received with 4 adults and 1 child.

E-mailed immediately, to highlight error. Specifically saying 2 adults and 2 children.
Received confirmation 3 adults and 2 children.

Finally phoned. I had avoided phoning because I thought the cost would be high, but the bill came in today 38p for 5 minutes. Can't complain at that.

Anyway, it was the lady I spoke to the first time. She apologised, said she would alter it, but that a refund might take a little while to get through.
The real problem I had was that she was so pleasant that, unlike dealing with someone in the UK I didn't feel like tearing her off a strip for their incompetence.
I haven't received any confirmation yet.

I'll e-mail again today.

I sympathise. I've had to send 6 e-mails and had 2 lots of PAPs sent from Disney because they seem totally unable to get our order right as well. We've finally got sorted today though (at least it looks like it), I'll have to wait and see what the credit card bill looks like when it arrives.

Well, I contacted Busch Gardens today.

The refund came through OK, and they sent me a confirmation.

Again I had specifically said 2 adults and 2 children. The confirmation had .......... 3 adults and 1 child.

Might be an idea to have the animals process the bookings and exhibit the humans.

Just as well the cost of adult and child is the same. I'll leave it as it is.

the good news is it'll be worth the effort, feeding the giraffe on the SS was one highlight of my trip! a piece of advice though: you stand around the edge of the truck, try to position one adult and one child in the middle of each side. when they stop to see the giraffe, the adult on the giraffe side should stay put. my partner did this, while everyone else frantically moved to get to face the giraffe: end result, my partner had the giraffe's neck practically on his shoulder for 10 minutes, he was stroking it and the pictures the photographer took were great - perfect place to put the kids. The staff are very patient and make sure that everyone who wants to feed them gets the chance so take your time. Enjoy - oh, and if your kids like animals, definitely take a side trip to the Animal kingdom Lodge hotel, there's places to see giraffe, antelope, zebra, wilderbeast etc in public areas - about 6.30pm or 9am seemed best for close up viewing on our stay there.
