we were at the travel agents yesterday and she was convinced that there is a bus to universal from the disney travel and transportation centre, i know that you can get a bus to seaworld from here but has anyone heard of a specific bus to universal? thanks Gill

The travel agent is incorrect - you can't get a bus direct to Universal from Disney. You can, however, catch a Lynx bus to Sea World and then use the I-Ride trolley to travel North up International Drive. However, this still leaves you a little walk to Universal - it doesn't drop off just outside the parks or anything. Not sure what she was on about, to be honest :confused3

Hi you can get a Mears Shuttle from the hotel but you must book in the
lobby prior to going I think we paid approx $24 return each and you
ring Mears to arrange return pick up. Hope this helps

I can confirm that the last poster is correct, you can ask in the lobby of a WDW hotel for Mears to take you and you can arrange a return journey.

I think the TA is either confused or trying to sell you their prepaid transportation vouchers for so many journeys during your stay. Save your money.

Some of the hotels in the Lake Buena Vista area have shuttle buses which will take you to either WDW TTC or the parking lot at US if this is a problem for you. Try to find a hotel which provides transport to both, I think there are a few on I-Drive too which have transport if you want the best of both parks.

Wilma-bride is right on the money the I-ride trolley does not go to US, only the taxis and scheduled hotel buses do, but it is a great way to travel along that long road with stops at the Premium Outlets and Sea World amongst others.

I was there in Octiber and it had dropped to $14 Per person return, this is the way to do it.

We are planning on staying at POFQ next time and want to do Universal, I thought it would be easier to stay at one of their hotels but now I'm wondering whether to stay at Disney for the whole of the time and catch a taxi, they are really cheap. Have to think about it as I know there are benefits to staying on site at Universal, will have to check the figures more closely, as for what the TA's say, I found out more info from here that TA's, in fact on more than one occasion I knew more than they did!

We caught a linx bus from the DTC to Universal - but it was back in 2002!!!
& it had loads of stops on the way - took ages to get their!!

You can go from DTC to universal by bus. Catch the No 50 lynx bus from the DTC to seaworld. Change to the No 8 (at the same stop or across the road - can't quite remember). This is where your choices start! You can change to the No 21 at sand lake road or the No 37 at the stop past wet n wild. Both will take you straight into universal. If you don't fancy the 3rd bus you can get off at wet n wild and walk (OK in not too hot weather). It is only a 15 minute stroll.
You can buy a day pass on the bus. As previously mentioned you can also catch the I ride tolley (instead of No 8) as the stops are either really close or at the same place as the lynx ones. We usually avoid the I ride though as it can be quite slow (for some reason tourists don't get on an off buses as quickly as local folk). In total it takes about 1.5 hours but is obviously cheaper than mears. At least you know you have some options. :yay:
