I beleive there are 4 bus stops at SSR--what are the first two goint to the parks in the morning? Its our first trip home, so we are excited--have not asked for any specific area, just wondering if the buildings that look out at DTD would be one of the first stops? Thanks! Debbie (trying to plna our split stay....)

Grandstand, Carosel, Paddock, Congress Park, Springs for parks. It starts at Springs for DTD runs.....

Of those what section is located closest to the main pool, quick service food, or Downtown Disney. I too am trying to decide what the best would be to request. Thanks for the post!

Congress Park is the closest to DTD and the Springs is the closest to the pool and food. Grandstand also isn't that far from the food and has a REALLY cool quiet pool....... Carosel is definately the furthest, anything else isn't more than a 10 min walk.. I LOVE the Paddock, not too far, yet not too close.....

Thanks for your reply! What is it about the quiet pool that makes it great at Grandstand? I was originally thinking we would want to be by the main pool because we will be traveling with 3 kids but also don't want to be far from the quick service food, we will eat b-fast there in the mornings. How long of a walk from Grandstand to Downtown Disney?

The pool has a theme of sorts, not just your usual quiet pool, and it has a kids spray area, no slide though, that's only at the main pool. To walk from Grandstand to DTD it probably would be 20 - 30 min, as it's not the closest, that's Congress Park which is about 10 - 15 min to DTD. I'd say either Grandstand or Congess park would both be about 5-10 min from the main pool and quick service.

Wow, great information! The first time at any resort always takes a little time to prepare for. I found a map, where does the boat transportation take you? I assumed Downtown Disney but wondered if it went any where else as well? Thanks again!

SSR shares the boat service with Old Key West resort so you could go there if desired. It does not go anywhere else.

I really prefer the Grandstand area to stay in. Newer buildings, first bus stop, nice pool and it is really just a short walk to the main pool. The Springs may be the closest to the main area, but at times it could be difficult to get a seat on the bus since it is the last stop.
