Bus from AK to DTD

Part of the reason for the direct AK-to-DtD bus is the parking lot construction at DtD. Since you are going in just 5 days (WooHoo!) I think you will find that the bus is still available.

How does this bus help the situation?

We saw the sign at AK this week. We thought that maybe they are trying out this route from a park that closes really early. It's not good until 3pm though. So that gives the guest a nice option if they are looking for something to do when AK closes. Only time will tell if it works out.

Thats my thought as well. Also the test of the option of ME picking you up at DTD instead of your resort. (too many "of's" )

Day guests, as well as resort guests who prefer to drive, will be able to take the bus instead of driving themselves to Downtown Disney.

Not really. The bus from AK to DTD doesn't start running until 3pm. They have to park someplace. If they park at AK, I'm just not sure how easy it will be to get back there if its late.
I don't think the construction at DTD has much to do with this bus. But, Disney didn't contact me to discuss it, so it's mere speculation on my part.

Unless Disney somehow promotes this as some great idea, I just don't think its something a normal wdw guest would think of as an alternative to parking at dtd. AK is about as far away from dtd as you can get.

The reason we always go to DTD on AK day is because it closes earlier then the other parks. We always have dinner there and head to Disney Quest. The hardest part is trying to figure out how to get there. Maybe this is something others do also or Disney wants us to do! Either way, I'm glad we have an easy way to get there this year!
