You may remember that a nine year old boy was hit & killed by a bus back in April of this year. The Florida Highway Patrol has completed their investigation and has cleared the driver of any negligence.

The investigation also showed that the tires on the boy's bike were under-inflated and stated that may have contributed to the boy veering into the bus.

I know the bus driver will always have to live with what happened, and that in and of itself, is tragic whether it was his/her fault or not. I can't imagine what it must be to cope with something like this.

It's a relief to know that the driver will not be held in fault. It's a shame that it had to happen in the first place. :sad1:

Thank you for the update Debbie. I often think about that tragedy.

Good for the driver. It's a sad sad thing that happened,,,,do they ever investigate the possible negligence on the part of the parents in cases like this,,or do they just dont bother ?

I'm certain that the parents will be suffering enough for the rest of their lives with the loss of their son. How tragic, but I am glad for the bus driver to be cleared. The driver will have his own grief to work anyway.

May God be with them all.

I just heard it on the news, so sorry for the parents, but happy the bus driver wasn't at fault, as Deb said he will have to live with this the rest of his life. There isn't a time that we are at the FT. I don't think about this accident so sad.

I hope that Magicbus will tell the driver how we are all thinking of him and the family. No one wins in this situation unfortunately. The parents have to deal with a loss of a child and the driver must deal with a terrible tragedy that he could do nothing to prevent. In both cases, families are changed forever.

My heart goes out to both families.

You're right Jen. That's good news for the driver but there is nothing good about this whole episode.

Very sad. I'm sorry for all those involved.

I was just thinking about this the other day -- thanks for the update; I hadn't seen that news. Very glad to hear it. Still such a sad event, all the way around...

Guess this news will have a somewhat negative effect on the lawsuit the parents were talking about less than 12 hours after the accident.

thank you for the update, deb. it is definitely a sad story. :(
