I encountered one of the rudest families at WDW last trip. We were outside of the Teacups and WHite Rabbit was there. I approached the character handler and asked her if she was still taking people in her line and she said "Yes you will be the last family. If she had said no I would have just thanked her and moved along. So, while I waited, no less than 5 or 6 families came up and tried to get in line and the CM nicely told them that the line was closed. White Rabbit was going in for the day and her would be back tomorrow. Almost every family argued a bit..."its their last day" ,"white rabbit is his son's favorite"...you get the picture. The CM stood her ground. Then, an extended family came up and tried to get in line...the CM told them no in a nice way...and they ABSOLUTELY FLIPPED OUT ON HER. They screamed and yelled and cursed like truckers. They were dropping F Bombs at the top of their lungs as they walked away...then came back to scream some more. She nicely threatened to have them removed from the park and they moved on...all while dropping hot FBombs as they walked away. It was awful awful awful. My son was crying, my stomach was in knots. Terrible terrible terrible. It definitely put a little damper on our day.

I think the sense of entitlement in the world is just out of control. Too bad I didn't have it on tape for You Tube...

No offense, and not to defend this rude family but basically..You're at the Happiest Place on earth. No matter how much this is supposed to be your fantasy as the perfect vacation, you're still going to run into people who are rude and inconsiderate. Even if they pay hundreds, yet thousands of dollars to be rude, don't let them ruin YOUR vacation.

exactly, after years of going to Disney, I have learned to try to ignore other people's bad behavior.

I have heard families waiting in standby for Buzz Lightyear, yelling at the CM for letting fastpass groups through before them. Or even when I use fastpass, seeing other people in standby roll their eyes or make comments as I walk past them.

I see that too. I had a FP for Splash, and the standby line was outside, and as I walked upstairs into the building, I heard someone say "where does she think she's going?" I also saw a guest yelling at a CM that their park ticket couldn't get them into the FP line.

Ok here is my rude guest story with a happy ending. It's a little long but well worth it.

In May at POR we were waiting on a bus in the morning for MK. The line was pretty long and when the bus arrived we were far back enough that it was standing room for DH and I and we shoved DD and DS into the last remaining seat together. The bus did not have enough room for all of the guest waiting and thier quickly was packed to the brim. We finally were ready to take off and this woman shoves her way onto the bus down the aisle of people standing and ends near the back with us. She is holding the hand of a toddler and carrying a baby and had a young child probably around 5 with her. She is loud, rude, and obnoxoius, stepping on people's toes, climbing over strollers, etc fussing that we should get out of her way. Her husband pops his head in the super full buss and calls back at her you need to get off they won't let me on with our stroller. Let me just say their stroller was TRIPLE side by side jogger and it was a monster. She starts SCREAMING back at him that they have to let him on b/c she is on there with her babies and they must let him on and she cannot get off. (She is standing across from me near the rear exit doors BTW) She continues to yell and demand we make room for him and claim that cannot leave her without her stroller. She continues to yell at the bus driver to let her husband on. Everyone on the bus is staring at her and a few people grumble and shuffle on back maknig 6 inches of room and husband squeezes in. He is polite and I can hear him apologize to people around and see his blazing red embarrassed face all the way at the front of the bus.

So we start the trek to MK, as we are pulling into the bus unloading lot she starts to scream "let me off, I have to get off first, let me off". I am thinking ok princess here we go again and since I am directly in front of the back exit doors I think she will get off this bus before me over my dead body. People on the bus are exchanging amused glances and rolling thier eyes. We pull up to the stop and she continues to scream "let me off, I need off first." I'm like whatever. So I exit and a few others around me closer to the door. I walk to the middle of the aisleway and she runs past me. My DH and kids come off the bus dying laughing. As I'm opening our stroller I say to DH what was up with princess over there, can you believe her? He finally starts gasping for air and points over to her about 15 feet ahead and says........look at her. I hear others from the bus snickering as everyone walks past her laughing. We get closer and I see that princess's baby has pooh'ed all over her!!!! She had on red shirt and white shorts and both had baby's big present on it.

If you are into politics the icing on the cake was her park bag was white w/ a large political party symbol on it (in bedazzled sequins) and the baby hit that too. I won't say which one (fill it in w/ your pick) but that just made it funnier.

Ugh I just don't get rude people. There's just no purpose in it, rudeness never accomplishes anything.

Ah, yes, rude people. We have seen our share. The most outrageous was the couple that wanted to "box" my husband over a table they believed was "theirs". The wife had staked out a whole section of tables at a CS restaurant for a group of apparently invisible people. When my husband and son walked up and sat down she went berserk. My DH said, "ok we'll move when they get here, we're just waiting for my wife". Then she really lost it. Then her husband came over and slapped my husband's face knocking his Raybans across the room, breaking them. Now... my husband is 6'1" and 220lbs. He could have crushed this creep, but he stayed cool and called for security.

Security asked if he wanted to press charges, he said no.

Now if you ever wondered how slow the service at some CS restaurants can be... all this happened while I was in line for food!! I only walked into the aftermath. A bunch of stunned diners, little kids looking scared and confused and my hubby keeping his cool. The crazy people had been screaming, spewing profanity for all to hear. It had ruined everyone's meal.

People are nuts and it seems to be getting worse and worse.

:thumbsup2 Kudos to your hubby for being a real man and handling the situation with respect and in an adult manner.

I loved the father of the little princess who was chastising the CM at Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. She was too small to ride. Daddy was holding up the line trying to get her on. He had her stand on her tip toes, etc, the CM politely kept telling him she was too small. He said this man (the CM) just ruined your vacation to his little daughter. Poor guy was just doing his job and trying to actually keep her safe. Dad just didn't get it. We said out loud looks like you are ruining her vacation dad. What a tool.

That would have ended both our trips. But at least I would have WALKED out of WDW.

LOL, same here, my day at that park would have been over right there and the other guy would have left on a stretcher!! Some people are way to passive...The OP mentioned the foul language in front of her child, when i hear that, i give ONE warning and let them know i dont want my children to hear that ( especially in a Disney Park) and if they persist, its lights out for them. When i am done with them, its a sure bet they will never do that again!!!!

So bad language infront of your children is not ok, but you being violent is? wow

Yes it is....obviously the person who continues to speak like that AFTER they have been asked not to needs a little more educatoin on how to act in front of children. Teaching my kids not to be passive and not take crap from anyone is a good life lesson.

I respectfully disagree, if you dont react, you are sending a message to people like that that they can act like that to anyone, and they will definelty do it again. Stand up to them, back them down and put doubt in their mind and if you need to get physical, do it, this will more often than not stop their behavior.

I am glad to see the handlers who hold their ground. There were a few times on our trip we were told that a character line was closing, and we always accepted that. However, we would have been really hurt had they told us no, and then told another family yes later on.

Regardless, we were in the line up for Ariel and Eric and the line closed and many people came by asking if they coudl join and they were all told no. Then a family came by and tried to join in and the handler told them no the line was closing but come back at X time and she will be back. The family was mad, and yelled and cursed and argued and argued and argued. They asked for another handler to come over, and she also said no. The father and mother argued and yelled and screamed and made a huge big scene. They asked to speak with a manager. A manager came out and again the family argued and aruged (we watched and this went on for 10 min... it was a long line up we were in waiting lol). I was glad to see that with all that arguing, and screaming and childish behaviour that no one gave in. The family was at no point admitted into the line.

When we finally left, I noticed they were waiting... behind the rope, to be the first family when Ariel came back.

Anyways, stories like that make me happy because I hate it when people who yell and argue and make scenes often get their way, it's not fair. Everyone around me was pretty happy to see the management not giving in to the family no matter how loudly they yelled!!

By taking action with violence is a good life lesson?

Oh, the bravery of the keyboard brigade :rolleyes1

LOL, ya, I get those kinds of responses quite often. As always, im very willing to discuss my way of doing things over a pint wherever I may be, but funny, no one ever shows up!!!!!! What is that saying about the word "assume" ??:lmao:
