bus Downtown Disney to (and from) Typhoon Lagoon???

Is there direct bus transportation between downtown Disney and typhoon lagoon?
We will be downtown Disney in the AM and would like to bus to TL. Then return to Downtown around 4:00pm for an early dinner. Really don't want to return to a resort and transfer to another bus

This is complicated:

From TL opening until about 11:30am, buses run from TL to DTD, but not the other way. Before 11am, there should be Transportation cm's wearing orange safety vests stationed around the bus load zones. Ask them for guidance if you need to get from DTD to TL before 11am; they may be able to get you a direct bus, or at least put you on a bus that will be stopping at TL after going to a resort.

Between 11am and 2pm, buses run from DTD to TL, but not the other way. All buses leaving DTD (except those destined for the MK resorts thru 3/28) should be stopping at TL. To get from TL to DTD between 11:30 & 2, take any bus to a nearby resort (such as SSR or CBR); it will be returning to DTD after the resort, so no transfer is required. Always verify with the driver that the bus will be returning to DTD, especially if it's shortly after 11am.

After 2pm, buses from TL run only to Epcot. (Thru 3/28, buses will also be running to the MK resorts as a limited test.) Since there's no direct service from Epcot to DTD, you would need to transfer twice to get to DTD. This is a situation where the $5-$10 for a taxi for the very short ride to DTD would definitely be worth it. There are usually 1 or 2 cabs at the taxi stand across from the TL park entrance; if not, call 407-422-2222 for Mears Taxi.

how would then if we are leaving TL around 3:00pm would we get back to our resort? they really only run to Epcot? we are staying at BW and wont be going into a park that day so the option to walk through the park is not available. What then?

Buses run from the front of Epcot to the Epcot resorts, only when the TL-Epcot shuttle is running. The driver on the bus from TL can tell you where to get the bus to BW @ Epcot, and there's also usually a Transportation cm meeting the buses arriving from TL to help Guests find their connections.

I can take a bus from my resort in the morning and then at 11:00am I can catch a bus from DTD to TL?. At this point (4:00pm) there is no bus back to DTD?

• Yes, bus service from resorts to DTD starts around 8:30am.
• Buses from DTD to TL start at 11am, but you should be able to get one earlier with assistance from a Transportation cm (it may be via a resort.)
• Yes, no buses from TL to DTD after 2 pm.

Just had a thought. Maybe it would be easier to take a bus from TL to Saratoga Springs and walk to DTD? I'm not too familiar with how the buses work at Saratoga. I wonder if there is a bus stop near the walkway to DTD?

Congress Park is the stop close to the walkway to DTD.

Between 11am & 2pm, the bus from TL to SSR will be going to DTD after stopping at Congress Park anyway, so there's no point getting off at CP, unless you'd just like to walk across the bridge.

After 2pm, there are no buses from TL to anyplace but Epcot. But after you reach Epcot, you could take the SSR bus and walk across the bridge, thereby avoiding a 2nd bus transfer.

We're very disappointed and will not be making our first visit to TL next week because of this. We may check out Blizzard Beach instead, or perhaps just keep our money in our pockets. Really, could they make it any more inconvenient?

Although, I wonder if it has eased the crowds at all at TL? Or I'm guessing a lot of people don't know about it? Do people really go all the way to Epcot and then transfer to get back to their resort?

No change has been announced, although bus service is always subject to change.

I think it would reasonable to guess that DTD & TL bus service may be completely reconfigured once the road construction is completed and the exclusive bus lanes open. That would probably be at least a year away.
