Does anyone know if there is currently a burn ban at the Fort? I know we have gotten a lot of rain so am hoping they lift it. Thanks!

I think the burn ban has been in place for longer than I've been going to the fort. Even when the fort is flooded...

Isn't that the truth. I think it has become standard policy. It's a heckuva lot easier to keep the burn ban in place forever than to worry about somebody burning the Fort down.

We were tat the Fort a couple weks ago, I read that there was a burn ban. I specifically asked if I could use our "Off the ground, Covered" fire pit and they said yes.

but we never used it cause we were bout 5 minutes from the Fort's nightly fires, so we just used their fire pits, :thumbsup2

I was wondering if something like this is okay.

We called yesterday to clarify for out upcoming trip and were told we could use our off-the-ground fire pit with a wire-mesh top. There's a lot of conflicting information (even within Disney itself; I've read in this forum of people calling twice an getting two different answers) so since we got a verbal confirmation we're going forward with it and will fall back on that if confronted (though I'm sure we'd still have to extinguish the fire). Either way, I feel we did our Due Diligence.

I called too and was told you can have fires right now with the "approved" fire pit. So this time we are bringing it. Last time we didn't and everyone in our loop was having campfires so we had campfire envy!

Fires were going last week!

Just back from a weekend at the fort...

YES, the burn ban signs were up.

YES, we were told we could have a campfire if our off-the-ground fire pit had mesh sides and a top. In fact, we have the exact one pictured above!

We actually had about 5 of them since we were with a large group. :)
