Bunk Bed rooms at AKL

When making reservations for my December trip to AKL I was told that the only rooms available with savannah view had bunk beds. I would think that the demand for rooms with the beds would outweigh supply - what do you think is the liklihood that I can switch this at check-in?

I don't have a particular issue with having the bunk beds - my issue is more that I think I will lose flexiblity on room location. I really want to get a room on the Arusha savannah.

We had the same issue for one of our 2 rooms. At check in they will happily give you a room without bunk beds but they will not refund the price difference as you paid more to get bunk beds. When you check in just tell them the view is most important and you want the best view and don't care about the beds. My parents ended up with no bunks but a much better view and didn't care about the extra they had paid for the bunks they didn't want anyway.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize the bunk beds cost extra? I have an AP rate for the savannah that is around $200 per night so I was thrilled!

We had a bunk bed savannah view room and had a perfect view of arusha savannah, in the last building before the end on the 2nd floor. Just request the view of Arusha savannah on your reservation before you get there and you should have as good a chance as anyone!
