Bulging disk in your spine

My daughter started the chiropractor at 2 times a week. After 4 weeks there was no improvement and my insurance wouldn't approve any more visits. Then the ortho doctor we started to see recommended the PT, we did that 2 times a week for months and months. The latest MRI showed it getting worse instead of better. so, after 2 years we went the surgery route. They removed the disk, cleaned out all the stuff that had oozed out and was pressing on her nerves and causing all the inflamation, then put the disk back in place. No fusing

Like another poster, I had a car accident in 88 in my 76 VW bug..rolled it a few times and though lucky enough not to break anything, messed my neck up. After physical therapy, was good to go until about 96, I was 3 months pregnant with my youngest son and whamo..woke up one day with all the same symptoms, pain in neck, then to shoulder, then the tingling and numbness. Since I was preggo, only thing was to do physical therapy again 2times a week and take tylenol. Big whoop. But, physical therapy worked wonders again for me. It was some kind of traction machine this time. I tell you I never knew that kind of pain, would have 6 babies at one time naturally if God would just make sure my neck didn't act up again. In the last 8 months my neck has been bothering me again with occasional flare ups with the nerve pain in the left arm and tingling, numbness. I, too, have been told surgery is a step as the disc is bulging but not herniated. I do NOT want to have the surgery. I live in fear I won't be able to ride BTMRR again..stupid I know but my story. :rotfl: I have not been taking any of the pain meds prescribed by the doc unless I really really have too. When I feel like it is starting up I start taking midol, use hot and cold compresses, and watch what I am doing. Like another said, seems like my problems start with I do the same task over an over again like folding laundry or wiping down walls. I have to make sure I don't overdo it in that area. Of course, dh said when I can't vacuum he would get a maid. But, I can vacuum a 100xs a week and NOTHING hurts...

Good luck...I know the pain. I haven't been to the chiropractor but I will say that physical therapy and following what they would like me to do has always worked wonders. I can be good as new for years at a time. When that fails I will move on. But surgery is my last ditch effort too.
