I was in Downtown Disney about a week ago - and I need to report that they now the Statue of Liberty pieces for your Potato!!!

They had the head piece, the torch and a pretzel - I believe all come from the NY Disney store.

Excellent excellent news! :jumping1:

Thanks DizzKnee! I can't wait to get some new parts for my potato. The last time I went they didn't really have anything new and the CM was saying how they might get some in May. Good to know that they actually got new parts.

yes we bought all of those while we were there...I sure did cram A LOT of stuff in that little box.

My dds love to go there and see who can cram the most in their box :flower:

Much easier once you already have the potato and you only need parts. Hope to get some new ones when we get there Saturday!!

Two more things that I found while down there in early May...

There is a "My Little Pony" area in the "Girls" area. In those bins there is a pink balloon, not a red one, and a Mickey Ears Ice Cream with Pink filling!

Grabbed two of each!

WE PURCHASED THESE PIECES IN NY LAST MONTH. THE NYC DISNEY STORE ALSO HAS A NYC POLICE HAT, I  NY SOMETHING?, AND A COUPLE OTHERS THAT I CANT REMEMBER. NEEDLESS TO SAY WE GOT THEM.

what are the dimensions of the box? Anyone know??

Are we talking a Mr. Potato Head? If so, does anyone have pics of theirs done Disney-style they can post? Sounds neat.

Does anyone know if they will get the Star Wars themed potato parts??? pirate:

The way to get the best bang for your buck with the box is to not buy a potato there. Just load your box with all of the special parts and accessories. If you insist on buying the Potato there for whatever reason, or you can't wait to play with it and you have no potato remember you can stuff parts in the back compartment of your potato, so you will save space. Or I guess you could always hit up dining services and ask them for an edible potato, so you can play true Mr. Potato head style. :jumping1:

These parts work with any standard Mr. or Mrs. potato Head. If you already have one you're all set. :Pinkbounc: You probably want to bring it with since you most likely won't be able to wait to play. If not you can buy them at Wal-mart or Target or A toy store, they will come with basic parts but the Disney parts are different than these basic parts. If you plan on buying parts at DTD, I suggest you bring the potato to FL with you so you can play right away instead of having the box tempt you the whole way home.

I want a Disney Taterhead now! We still have the kids' Mr. Taterheads somewhere and it will be my mission to find them this weekend. Then I'll get some Disney parts.

I know this sounds kinda dorky but I want a Mr. Potato head for my desk at work. I am going to buy him now at Walmart and take him along to disney. I'll just buy myself a box of parts. He's gonna be so cute.

Can't wait. :cheer2: My DH will be thrilled $18 for potato head parts. :rotfl:

Just make sure when you pack your box that some employees are very fussy about how the box is packed.

When we went back in Dec. I wasn't permitted to buy my parts the first time because I accidentally ripped the one side of the box. The CM made me empty the parts and start all over with a new box. Then she wouldn't let me buy my second box of parts because there was a gap at the top of the box. She said the box had to be secure with no gaps. The box reminds me of a McD Happy Meal box only taller and skinnier. I had to leave that day with no potato parts because I spent too much time trying to pack it correctly.
I did go back several days later the night before we left and got some parts.
I like my potato. It's cute. I'm getting more parts when I go back in Oct.

I just wanted to mention how fussy some CMs are about how you pack those potato parts.

Yes, I agree. The CMs we encountered were VERY fussy (although very nice about it) about how the box was. The box needs to be able to close -- without any gapping. My DH, who is the king of packing the trunk, spent forever getting everything in there. It was some weird kind of challenge for him -- I was trying to decide what we were going to have to leave out. But, oh no!, he wasn't going to leave anything out! :earsboy:

One suggestion I would give to people who are looking at getting some -- make sure you look at what comes with the typical Mr. Potato Head. I put some shoes in our box because I thought they were supposed to be "Minnie" shoes, but they turned out to be ones that came with our original potato. Also, definitely buy the potato somewhere else. We buy strictly the items you can't get elsewhere.

The box dimensions are: 7 inches tall, 5 inches wide, and 4 inches deep on the top or 7 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 5 inches deep on the top, depending on how you look at it. Now, I'm not sure if this box is from our DW trip in 2002 or from DL trip 2004. They may have different box sizes. Does anyone know if they change the size?

We're going to WDW in May 06 -- for the first time with 2 children. I'm afraid we'll have to buy double the parts this time!

Thank you! now I know what I'll be spending my $17 on. It sounds like the size of a Mr. Potatoe head box you would buy at the store.
I'll have to practice my tetris game so I'm good when I get there.

We actually had the opposite situation with the CMs on our March visit. Dds had packed their boxes and I thought done quite well :goodvibes

However, when we got to the register, the CMs told them oh you can fit more in here, helped them repack and sent them back for more stuff. They spent like an hour helping my four oldest dds pack their boxes.

Can't wait to get back there this weekend.
