My DGD wants to go to build a bear for her birthday...are there any coupons or deals that you know of? It's not a build a bear party...I'm just going to take her and her sister and hoping there's some kind of deal or coupon!!
I've not been before - what should I expect?
With 17 Grandchildren....I'm trying very hard to stay on top of everything....I'm even searching for those illusive Go Go Hamsters too for Christmas. Is this what keeps Grandmothers young? or is this what gives them gray hair!!:lmao:
Barb in Texas
when I got my dis name...I was grandmother to 13....since then...I'm grandmother to 17...they all call me Bunny - thus my Disname - Bunny213
I did NOT realize all my own children were going to be like "bunnies" :rotfl: I either taught them too much or not enough!!!

I think I have a couple of $5 off coupons from the Sunday paper a few weeks ago. I was thinking about taking my DD there but decided not to (too much stuff already!)

I'll look for them and let you know.

Usually you can find a printable coupon online if you have the patience to google around.

Just beware...this store can be a budget buster because everything is so cute. If you have decided on a budget, make sure it is clear to the kiddos. Once they select an animal, there sounds that can be added for extra $$, then every kind of adorable accessory -- outfits, shoes costumes, sunglasses, sleepin bags, etc....often you can get 2 or more animals for what 1 animal plus an outfit costs.

I have found I really have to help the kids stick to budget and not get overwhelmed by choosing 2 or 3 accessories for them to select from.

Pre-purchasing gift cards will help keep to the budget. Also, make sure you sign up for the rewards card if you think you will be frequenting BAB after this visit...it helps a bit, and they often have coupons, and also will mail coupons to you.

This is a wonderful experience and I am sure your DGDs will always remember making their animal with Bunny!

I actually went to Build a Bear today with my 7 month old daughter. Ok, I know 7 months is a little young, but we purchased a $12 stuffed bunny and had a $5 coupon. Because she is so little, we didn't purchase any clothes or accessories. We definatly had $7 in fun...I know it would be far more difficult with older kids, but $7 for a cute bear is a great deal in my book!

a couple of weeks ago we took our 2 kids (DD12 and DS8) to build-a-bear to make an animal for their newest baby cousin. Build-a-bear had a deal going on at that time but, I'm not sure if it's still going on. However I am sure if you call the store and ask they can let you know. Anyway, the deal is ANY animal and ANY outfit on a hanger and ANY pair of shoes for $29. That is an excellent deal especially if you have a $5 off coupon, even without the coupon it's an awesome deal. My kids chose a brown bunny and a NY Giants cheerleader outfit(that comes with top, skirt, pom poms, mega phone and hair ribbons) and white sneakers that have a red and blue stripe on the side. The bunny was adorable dressed up.

* I have a $5 off coupon if you would like it just PM me the details!

Unfortunately the $29 deal did end in August. Was a great deal though!

We took advantage of that deal as well. And it was DD's first build a bear experience and she loved it!

But we also have the $5 off coupon from the newspaper from 2 weeks ago. The lady told me I could not use that coupon with the promotion.

Sadly, now DD is hooked on build a bear and everyday she asks if we could go and get her bear some clothes...ugh, I can't afford that. So for christmas I think I will ask people to get her gift cards or little outfits or something.

I bought a ton of BAB and clothing on Ebay. I think I have every animal ever made. I did that 2 of the DGK and they made the cute bunny a easter time. Each got a outfit for it. Ended up costing just about 100.00. Spend way to much.

I think I saw some generic outfits at Micheals that will fit BAB and you can probably use the 40% coupons if you have a store in your area and your DD doesn't care that the clothes are knock-offs. :)

a couple of weeks ago it was 30 bucks for any animal, any hanging out fit, and any shoes... it saved me about 8$ as daugther picked out an 18$ animal 12$ out fit and 8$ shoes

Thank you! I forgot about that! She got a shirt and shorts there last year for her Snoopy, which is about the size of the Build a Bear! Thanks!

There was a coupon in the paper for a free messenger bag with a min purchase of 15$. Sorry, I only get one paper, but I can send you the coupon. I'll have to check to see when it expires. When is your daughter's birthday??

The cheapest animals start at $10...there are a few to choose from. The most expensive is around $30, I think. Several between $10-$20 though.

I don't think I've ever NOT used a coupon there. They're fine with the el cheapos though. I'll give my kids each $5 and a coupon and let them handle the transaction themselves. I'll sometimes buy a shirt and that's it, but no other clothing, shoes, or accessories because it all gets pulled off or misplaced.

They mainly like to add characters to their online account. Lots of good games on there.
