Would it be okay for a 7 year old boy? I know that if I mentioned this to him he would be SO excited about it, but I just did not know if it seemed geared towards girls since we have never been to one.

We have been calling around different places for DS birthday party for November. The 1 place he was excited about has not called us back after 2 messages so far. We are a little limited as some places have age ranges for their parties. We have a couple of 3 year olds and then up to 7 year olds. We were trying to think of just doing something fun at home but our house is not big and we will have about 10 kids plus their parents and I think it would be CROWDED. If it was a nice November day the kids could run around outside, but Im taking a big chance. Plus what are some fun things that could be done for that age range?

Thanks for any suggestions.

A Build a Bear party would be great for a 7yo boy. There are plenty of 'boy' outfits for the bears.

I am also thinking of doing the build a bear for my dd 7th birthday. I think it would be fine for a boy. Do you have like a chuck e. cheese near you house. We have a fantasy land which is like a the cheese mouse but cheaper. It was about $100 for I think 12 kids and they eac got tickets to ride rides and tokens to play games I think ten each and then I bought two pizza for the parents. It was one of hte best parties ever and I did not have to clean up after.

ITA - they have all the sport teams outfits, I know my DS would love to have a Blackhawks one.

We just had a party for my DD5 at BAB and my six year old nephew had a great time. They also had boy Disney costumes for the bears, too. He made a frog with a Buzz Lightyear suit. So cute!!! Its a great party if you're going to have boys and girls invited. Have fun!

BAB parties are great for 7yo boys!

My oldest DS is 10 and he still loves going to BAB.

We had a BAB party for my youngest DS when he turned 5yo, and my DD when she turned 7yo.

Honestly, if I am going to spend money on a b-day party, BAB gives you the most bang for your buck. IMO.

Yes, we have done Chuck E. Cheese party for 4th and 6th bdays. I told him that one has to come out of the rotation. :guilty: He loves it there!!

We did a BAB party for my son when he turned 7 - he invited 9 other boys and his older brother and sister (she was the only girl). Great fun!

My son 10 just had a party at BABW two weeks ago.
Surprisingly he and six others boys loved it. On the way home they were talking about what they would get next time. (I warned the parents.)It was a big hit and not much more expensive than other parties. Very well organized and planed. Last week we got a 10 off 40 card in the mail as a thank you. More ways to get your money. My son has 3 bears along with a Flames hockey outfit and a Padres outfit. And more on his wish list.

Do BAB while you still can! I'm sure by next year he will be much too cool for stuffed bears! :cool1:

I think it would be fine!
Julia is having her 7th birthday party at Build a Bear on 10/21-she's inviting her whole class, so we'll see if the boys come and have fun. I am sure the ones who come will be into it. :thumbsup2

Yes! My dd's 7th bday party was there. She had lots of boy guests, up to 10 yr's old. The boys loved it as much as the girls!

I think that's a great idea - with all of the sports themes and the stuffed dogs and other animals beyond bears I think that your little boy would have a lot of fun and I think the kids would enjoy it more than Chuck E. Cheese.

About how much is it per child? I know DD would love this for her 7th birthday.

It's $10 per child and up. $10 p/p gets a $10 bear, with no outfit/accessories plus a party favor(when I booked it was a little stationary set but she said it changes) and a person to run your party-the favor and the party planner are there no matter what price you choose.
$15 p/p gets the bear and a $5 accessory/shirt
and on up.
I booked for a $15 p/p party because we are inviting 22. I am SURE I will be lucky to get 10 or 11(I hope LOL) but just in case I was wrong and got most of the kids I didn't want to be shelling out $20 x 22.
You can change it up until the party though, and you just need a minimum of 6.
I think $15 p/p is a good deal considering you don't have to do goody bags or anything since they get the favor plus the bear.

We are also doing pizza/cake at the food court of the mall afterwards.

We did one for DS's 9th birthday and it was a BIG hit :thumbsup2 ! All his friends were into sports so that's pretty much what they picked out for outfits. We had a sleep over after coming home from BAB and all the bears "participated" in the rest of the evening's activities (think one of the bears even "won" one of the games of bingo ;). Decide how much you want to spend per kid then let the kids decide if they want a smaller bear and have more money to spend on clothes, etc. or vice versa - it's interesting watching them wrestle with that decision. We also had several kids bring some of their own money along to buy a few more things for their bear - you can drop a LOT of money in one of those stores!
Hope the party's fun!!

We just had DD's 7th birthday there and a few of the guests were boys. They had as much fun as the girls. It really is a great place for a party and they did a fantastic job entertaining the kids. It was so easy as well. I just bought a cooler with ice cream cup and juice boxes for afterwards in the food court.

DS who just turned 7 had a Build A Bear party this yeah. All the kids had such a great time and lioved their bears/dogs/frogs. :) AND it wasn't that expensive.

$15 is not bad at all!

We have a BAB at the stadium and DD spent about $45 on just a Fred Bird. Stood in line a good portion of the game too. It has been awhile since we were over at the store so that might be the perfect party! Thanks for the idea and Happy Birthday to you DS!

My DS will be 7 Oct. 12th and he's going to a BAB birthday party for his best friend (also a boy) that is turning 7 too! He was DANCING in the kitchen when he opened the invitation. He already has one ... George, the Monkey and he's way excited to build a frog for his "collection". :goodvibes
