Hi! Leaving one week from today!!! While out in my yard last night I started to think about bugs. How buggy will it be this time of year. Will we need to bring bug spray?

I'd be less worried about the bugs outside and more worried about the bed bugs at the resort.

Got back a couple weeks ago, and my wife was bitten more times than we could count.

You have my attention. Do you mind me asking which resort? thanks

Port Orleans Riverside
Oak Manor
Room 9412 (oddly, the same room that allearsnet uses for their pictures)

To the OP, sorry. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. To answer your question, bugs weren't bad at all outside last week of July. I think you'll be fine.

We have never really noticed bugs at WDW. This makes me a little nervous as to just what they are using to keep the bugs away, but it's balanced out by there being no bugs :rotfl: :rotfl:

Did you remove the sheets and look at the mattress to see if what you were getting bit by was actually Bed Bugs?
There are so many other bugs that can do the same thing.
You said that your Wife was the one who got bit, Bed Bug would have bitten you also.

We were only there for 4 nights and she didn't really notice until the 3rd night. I was sleeping on top of the blankets and sheets. Maybe I just taste bad.:confused3

We were in DW last year in August. While watching the fireworks on the beach at the Poly we were bitten quite a lot. I think they donot spray in all areas of the world like they use to since we have all become more eco aware.
We never had a problem in the parks.

I usually pack a few of the individually packaged Off towelettes. They are easy to carry and if I need it I have it. If I don't need it, I don't go around smelling like bug repellent.

Beg Bugs don't distinguish and can care less who they bite.
So, unless you can prove that it really was Bed Bugs I won't worry about your claim. :surfweb:

We just returned on Aug 4th from an 11-day visit to the World. We were surprised at the lack of bugs compared to previous visits. Perhaps Florida's drought this year helped keep the insect population down?

We have stayed in Port Orleans Riverside 4 times now,our 5th coming up in October.
We have never had any bites from bed bugs whatsoever. We have stayed in both:) AB and the Mansions.

Keith.
