Bug spray or no?

On our past trips we've never really even needed mosquito repellant. (Did get bit up a little once while on the Poly beach one night)
Are the mosquitos bad this year? Will we need it at the Wilderness?
We've usually never needed it in the parks though. I'll probably take it anyways, just wondering what we should expect at the resorts.

After our really bad bites in May, we brought it in June, and sprayed our legs everytime we went out. Didn't see as many bugs this time, and didn't sit in Epcot for concerts, so dont' know it that helped. But we came home with only a couple bites on our arms (hubby got bit by a bigger bug and his whole hand swelled..we had to go to first aid for benedril (sp)pills and topical, as well as ice).

Maybe we were just lucky, but we were there June 3 - 11 and I had bug repellent, but never used it and never were bothered by bugs at all!! I would take it just in case, but I hope you won't need to use it!!:D

Last year I went in July, and didn't think I needed bug spray after the first few days. Then I went out late one night, and was eaten alive. I'm not sure if it was the time of day or the rain. This year I'm bringing our Avon bug lotion/sunscreen to use in the evening.

I took Deep Woods Off insect repellent with me both in August and December, 2003, but didn't use it either time. Not one bite! However, we were on WDW property most of the time.

They were posting notices in each room about the mosquitoes last year and recommending the use of insect repellent with DEET.

Last july / august we used it daily especially with all the rain last year. :( I had my can the first e-nite we attended and was spraying everyone in a 50 mile radius, asking me to. Please spray my kid? etc.... We where all getting eaten alive. I always have a can in my back pack. :D Better to be safe, expecially with west nile around.

I wouldn't leave home without it!!! They love me!!!

The mosquitos usually declare open season on me, as well, but didn't last year for some reason.

That's okay, I'll take it! :)

I sat out for about 20 mins on our porch at OKW one evening last month and I ended up with bites all over my legs. Be careful at night. The odd thing is that my mom is on chemo and she was sitting there too and didn't get one bite. We wondered if they knew her blood wasn't normal.
