Bug Bites?

A friend just returned from WDW, and she and her friend got many itchy bug bites. She's pretty sure they weren't mosquitoes, bedbugs, or fleas. Any idea what they might have been?

(FYI, they did change hotels midway through their trip, so chances are they weren't bedbugs. The bites were all over their bodies, not just their legs, so it probably wasn't fleas. They didn't see any mosquitoes.)

Thanks for the help.

Seems to us that no matter when we go, we come home with a few bites around the ankle area. I believe they are sand fleas or no see-ems. Itch like crazy and leave a big red spot for quite awhile. Best cure we found is rubbing ammonia on the bite, takes the itch out of it. Pharmasists here at home syas its the main ingredient in most expensive itch reliefs, ammonia is real cheap. We take insect repellent with us to WDW but never seem to use it, hence the bites we get, not alot just a couple but, hey, its Florida.

I got a couple of big ones on my ankle, I think that they are from Chiggers in the grass or tree's just waiting for an unsuspecting victim then *chmop*.

I wonder if it has to do with the time of year they went. We go every May & I've never had one bug bite while there.

I think it also depends on body chemistry. My husband and I could use the same soap and shampoo (no perfume, hairspray, etc) and sit next to each other outside for a couple of hours. I'll end up with 8 or 10 bites and my husband won't have any. It's always been this way, no matter where we go.

I was there in May. We stayed at all star movies and at the playground near the toy story building there was some sand bugs My dd and I got alot of bits around the ankle. We did not stay long.
