I understand children under 3 eat free at the buffets - but how exactly does that work.

Does she get a plate or do I have to put her food on my plate and feed off my plate?

How do drinks work - do they just charge say $2 for milk if I order her one (she won't drink juice) - or if I order her a drink and she gets a plate will they try to charge me for the buffet price? She is 15 months btw. I assume they WILL charge me for the drinks - I have no problems paying for whatever she needs for food or drinks but I want to know what to expect so there are no surprises.

grab a plate from the line for your child and get them something to eat.

I'm a bit concerned about this to. My best friend was there last month and said it wasn't a big deal (and her two year old is huge, literally as big as my 4 year old), that no one tried to charge her. Are you on the dining plan so they know how many people are ticketed?

I've also wondered about this. My little one will be 22 months when we go and is big for her age. She also eats more then her 5 year old sister!

Yes we are all on the dining plan so it should be obvious if they can check that sort of thing that she is under 3. But honestly at 15 months - there should be no questions she is under 3 (she is also on the smaller side for her age).

In Jan, DS was 22 months. Chef Mickey's was the only buffet we ate at and I served him on his own plate. As far as drink, I ordered milk for him and I don't think I was charged for it. Some people have reported getting it for free, others reported paying for drinks for their under 3 child.

On our trip last March, our DD was 15 months old. Our table service meals were at Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, Garden Grill, and Boatwrights. We always got her own drink and we were never charged for it. At the buffets I also got her own plate and wasn't charged for it either. We were on the Dining Plan and never had any problems with them. Now, on our quick service meals, we had to pay for all of her drinks. It is obviously a different setup so that wasn't unexpected for us to pay for her drinks.

That is fine - I don't mind paying for her to eat - we would have gotten her the dining plan if they had let us - so I'm just trying to figure out last minute budget.

I have been a few times with kids under three on the dining plan. There is no problem feeding them off the buffet. At a place where you order a meal, you will have to share off your plate or purchase a meal. As far as drinks, I have only had one place charge and I really think that was more that terrible attitude of the waiter. That was at Coral Reef.
