We have only ever done breakfast once as we typically get off ASAP but this time we are in no hurry. Can anyone advise if the buffet is open to avoid table service for breakfast? Thanks in advance. (Fantasy is boat).

Yes, it is. Limited hours and limited items. DCL wants you off the ship by 9:30, generally.

I think it's open until 8am -- or rather, that's when they stop refreshing the buffet. If you arrive later options will be limited and not as fresh. There really is nothing to do onboard in the morning other than eat breakfast and debark. DCL wants everyone out of their staterooms by 8am, and by 9am they are clearly encouraging dawdlers to leave.

Just be aware they usually dont actively advertise! But it IS open as others said less of a selection but more than enough options!

Cabanas on the fantasy opens around 6:30. It isn’t listed in the app as an option. We always eat there the morning before debarkation.

Mostly cabanas on departure day for us-unless it is a must that we see our table mates or servers one last time. Not crazy about breakfast that morning in the dinning rooms. I'd rather nibble at cabanas. Usually I can throw together a breakfast sandwich from the offerings, some fruit and then head out.

Same for us. Although we've been known to go to Cabanas early and then still go to sit down breakfast if we want to see our tablemates one last time!

For people who are cruising Disney for the first time after cruising other lines, it is important to note that Disney has a much less organized disembarkation system unlike other lines, unless things have changed. Disney cruisers seem to like it, but we found it chaos. Everyone has to be out of their staterooms by 8 am, we had late seating breakfast at 8 am, and were in line to get off the ship by 8:30, but it took 45 minutes to make it off the ship. We ran into some friends from our cruise at MCO and they were in the last group getting off the ship at 1015 am!
Other cruise lines we have been on, have public rooms open and you are assigned a place to wait for your group to be called to leave. They have coffee, pastries, juice and snacks for those who skipped breakfast, and entertainment, like a singer to help you pass the time.

We usually prefer the MDR for breakfast, but sometimes, when taking DCL transfers back to the resorts, you need to be off earlier, and we have late dining, so it would mean later breakfast. We've done the buffet in those cases. There's a decent enough offering and I'm not subject to the timing of the wait staff. Others are right in saying that they don't advertise it, but it's definitely available.

Went to cabanas on the fantasy the last day of our last cruise. had late seating and could not do the later breakfast as we were expected on busses going back to disney world earlier than if we ate in the dining room. worked out well as we ate and were off the ship and out to the busses within 20 minutes. only thing they werent doing is the omelet station. typical daily breakfast was offered otherwise.
