My kids love the buffets --- specifically breakfast buffets. I don't dislike them, but I would like to be able to use some of our DDP TS credits for some nice dinners.

So, we are trying to prioritize these buffets and find out if these are worth it and which ones we should either skip or pay OOP. From what I can tell each of these costs approximately $25 per person (Cape May's is $27) so the pricing isn't really a big difference.

How would you rank these breakfast buffets? 1-5 with 1 being the best
  • 1900 Park Fare
  • Boma
  • Cape May's Cafe
  • Crystal Palace
  • Tusker House
Any specific input would also be appreciated.
TIA

From this list, I've only been to Cape May Cafe's breakfast. I highly recommend it because of the laid-back atmosphere and good character interaction. The food from the buffet is not very different from any other breakfast buffet that I've tried.

Where are you staying? If you are not staying at AKL, I would skip Boma. It might be a bit of a pain to get to for just a breakfast buffet without characters. With that being said, I would rank them as follows:

1- Cape May... It can take a while to get to unless staying at the EC resort area (take a bus to DHS and then take the boat to BC) but as the PP said it is one of the more relaxing character meals.

2- 1900 PF... We like to do this for brunch on a MK day. We usually grab a pastry or something at our resort, head to MK for RD, do some rides and collect some FPs, they head over to GF for an 11:15 ADR. The characters are a lot of fun.

3- Tusker House... Good food, good character interaction. If your party is bold, grab a FP for KS and take a ride on the safari after breakfast (TH and KS arereally close), if you have fragile tummies, just grab the FP and return later in the day.

4- CP... The food is pretty good and it is a much better experience than the CP dinner. There's nothing quite like walking down MSUSA before RD.

5- Boma... It's great if you are staying at AKL, but like I said earlier, it is not really anything special enough to go out of your way for for breakfast.

We are staying at Coronado Springs and will have a rental car so we won't have to worry about the buses.
Thanks for the input. I appreciate your thoughts.

Never been to Boma or Cape May.

This last trip we did Crystal Palace, 1900 Park Fare, and Tusker House...it ended up being a great variety of characters (I am just putting them in order of attendance)

1-Crystal Palace. The reason I rate this as 1 is b/c I love Eeyore. The other reason is that if you have an 8:05 ADR on a 9 am opening day, you get into the park early. We had an 8:05 ADR, we got pictures of empty main street, ate breakfast, met all the characters, and had a potty break and were out of there a few minutes after 9. The plus is that we were so full that we really didn't need lunch (just a Dole Whip float), so we didn't have to wait in long lines to break for that. The puffed French toast is REALLY good. Also, they have an omelette and chocolate chip mickey pancake station. The fresh fruit was also particularly good (blueberries, blackberries...not just apples and oranges).

2-Tusker House. We do this as a brunch on early EMH day. On the DDP, we had a snack in your room, hit EMH (safari, dinosaur, triceratop spin, bugs life) early brunch at Tusker House, lion king show, AK closes early so then dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD. The juice is soooo good. The offerings have some uniqueness (bobotie, quiche, sweet potato, mealie pap). Roast ham, tater tots, donuts were hits with my family.

3-1900 Park Fare. Originally did it as an early breakfast, but changed to 11 am on our last day. We hit MK at opening, rode a few things, grabbed some fastpasses, then took the monorail to GF (we hadn't done the monorail all week so that was like a ride to itself). The place was not crowded at all. The characters came to our table several times. Again, the yummy juice was there. Again, eggs made to order. Strawberry soup. This place was unique b/c it actually had REAL bacon.
We went back to MK on the monorail, used our fastpasses

Cape May and Boma might be great, but both are out of your way, even with a rental car. We are a rope drop family and it definitely paid off...during the week of 4th of July, we never waited more than 15 minutes for a ride.

I think Crystal Palace before park opening and Tusker House brunch will be must dos for us for quite some time.

food quality: these three were really good
Boma (dinner)
Tusker House
1900 Park Fare
Cape May's Cafe (never been)
Crystal Palace (just awful)

Character Interaction:
1900 Park Fare (breakfast and dinner)
Tusker House
Boma
Crystal Palace (Winnie the Pooh past over my kids)

Pricing:
I remember 1900 Park fare and Boma being close to if not over $100 for 2 adults and 1 child for dinner. I would use the TS credits for these and pay OOP for Tusker Breakfast

1-Cape May-good food quality and character interaction (next to 1900 dinner with step-sisters) The characters are so cute in their beach attire and spend alot of time at your table. We make an ADR before RD @ HS or on a sleep in day and walk through international gate to WS. Plus love the Beach club

2-Crystal Palace-my DS-16 still asks to go here. Love the food, atmosphere, great pics on main st before RD, puffed french toast, choc chip pancakes, choc mickey waffles, etc.

3-1900 Park Fare-it was good food. Loved Alice with my son when he was little.

Have ADR for Tusker House next trip!!

Haven't been to Boma
