I DON'T THINK SO!!!

LAST CALL FOR FREE BEER AT ALL ANHUESER-BUSCH PARKS

In a move that could make its theme-park division easier to sell, Anheuser-Busch InBev said Monday that it will end the long-standing tradition of free beer tasting at SeaWorld Orlando and its other parks across the country.

The company said it will shutter the popular hospitality centers and "brewmaster clubs" in its SeaWorld and Busch Gardens theme parks starting later this month. Some will be converted into new restaurants, while others will get new, cafe-style menus.

The Hospitality Center at SeaWorld Orlando will close Feb. 1; no opening date has been set for the restaurant that will replace it. All affected employees will remain with the company, A-B InBev said.

The company said it will continue to sell beer in the parks.

For you Busch fans....it's time to change your loyaties. This has been a tradition since God created the heavens and the earth, and now the "big, nasty, greedy" foreign company that bought A/B is ending the tradition.

AMERICA'S BEER? Not any more.

This is just not right. I know drinking is not for everyone, but let's have some balance here.

After the InBev acquisition of AB, my entire family here in TN has made a game of trying to buy only American owned/brewed beer. We drink quite a bit of Yuengling (I particularly enjoy their Black and Tan), and recently our area Kroger stores have begun carrying Genessee. Being originally from Western New York, I grew up all too accustomed to the morning after effects of Genny Screamers, but as they are still Rochester based AFAIK, I'll drink them now and then.

In any case, it's sort of a line in the sand thing. I know I have many foreign made products in my home. One of our vehicles is foreign too, although our most recent purchase was a Chrysler minivan even though everyone told me the Honda was better. I guess I am waking up and seeing bits and pieces everyday of this great country being removed to foreign control, jobs lost, etc., and then all of a sudden somebody comes and slaps big Dutch clogs on those Clydesdale's hooves. Bam! There's my line in the sand. No more Bud for me. No more Miller for that matter too. Give me American beer!

Ok, off my soapbox now...

GEEZE, now Frank misses out on 4 beers, my 2 and his 2. ;)

This is not a good move. :sad2:

See this is why you go to disney they cant take away free beer there. They just charge $120.00 a case.:lmao:

ditto with DAVE from Tenn, for me
not gonna send my dollars to a foreign country in these times
of need

as i sit here drinking my new beer,
I encourage my former bud drinking partners to try a nice old school Miller.
Not the MGD just a miller high life,
yes its yellow,
and it comes in an old fashioned clear bottle.
give it a shot. never thought i would get hooked.
I am actually a beer snob and like a lot of tastey expensive beers.
but, for everday barbeque stuff,
I am really loving the High Life.

and let the Euros drink the Buds

by the way,

no i am not sure miller is an american company.

they told me at my last seaworld beer tasting, that it was south african?
who knows.

Yep, unfortunately Miller is South African owned. Oh well, I know that in this global economy you can never be sure exactly where the profits are going, much less where exactly the components to the products we buy are from. Maybe the best approach should be to drink whatever you like. After a few you won't care where it's from anyways.

Bud is rice beerany how. I never drank beer at SW....... oh wait, yes I did.

Oh well, I might not go backnow..........

I too, am from WNY originally. We use to refer to Genny as "witches piss"!!

We need to bring back Iroquois and Utica Club!!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I have to remember that one for Genny. Too funny!

We also need to bring back Koch's from Dunkirk! Isn't it funny how of all the beers that used to be brewed in WNY, Genny is the one to survive.

Our locals are Iron City and Rolling Rock, but I don't drink either so I don't know who owns them anymore!

:headache: not nice we have 2 yr platinum passes and they still havent told us what would happen if they sell:mad: and does the 2 beers that they give away really cost them anything no i was a bartender for years 200% mark up is what you make. and i love the lame excuse that they gave it will help them sell easier bulls#*$ whoever buys the public know that there will be changes next they will take away the free entrance for the military:sad2: i think they are that cheap

:sad2:

We can try to go as American as we want, but the sad reality is that a extremely HUGE portion of America and American products are owned and produced by foreigners.

:confused3

I have to agree Frank. It's hard to go into any store and find made in the USA on anything anymore. InBev buying A-B was like us selling the Washington Monument. Bud is about as American as you can get and now foreigners own that too. The only people who can stop these huge co.'s from making billions is us. It may cause us to pay more but that's it. Now for the car makers they need to start improving cars that last as long as the rice burners which it looks like they are in the process of only because their heads were on the chopping block.

The latest JD Power surveys show the GM full size truck and the Chevy Malibu at the very top of the ratings, Chrysler is slipping though and I think they are destined for extinction.

Frank-how right yu are - since 1965 I have basically worked for 3 companies and the US Army.

I worked for Bethlehem Steel which no longer exists, Dunlop Tire which was owned by the UK & Japan (Goodyear after I left) and by a huge UK bank right now ( they were US owned when I started). The only totally US firm I worked for no longer exists. I'm not sure who owns the US Army.

Actually Donnie, US automakers have been making automobiles that will last as long as the rice burners for close to 20 years. But the reputation they got in the 80's is still haunting them. If you don't believe me check around at all of the auto's from the 90's still running, and many of them over 200,000 miles.

I'm sure that's true. After the mid 70's oil crisis I think the US automakers were trying to compete with the Jap cars that were going forever and lost sight of quality. Personally, I have not nor plan on ever buying a foreign vehicle. I was tempted at the Nissan Titan but glad I didn't. One thing the big 3 really need to focus on is a better looking truck like the Tacoma. Chevy's and Dodge both have ugly as hell trucks in that category with nooooo room. I don't even think Ford makes Rangers or the likes anymore. People pulling pup's and small campers might be more inclined to buy one if they look better and you'd be surprised by surveys of why people buy what they buy because of a certain look that makes the mind like something. If you put a Colorado, Dodge medium truck and a Tacoma in front of me I'd go with Tacoma.
