Budget vs. National

For our Sept. 16-23 trip, we have reserved a compact with National for $173. Today I found a compact on Budget for $169... I know it's not a huge difference, but a little bit extra here and there adds up to a lot. Is there a difference in service between the two companies? Should I just stick with National, or should I go with Budget?

I was directed to mousesavers.com. They have wonderful information regarding the different rental car companies and give out different discount codes and discount options.

After reviewing their site I liked National. However, I have not had much experience with renting cars to I am relying on what I have researched.

Good luck.

I got codes for both cars from MouseSavers, I've been reading the site and newsletter for quite a while now. I was just wondering as far as personal experiences with the companies, good/bad, if I should switch from National to Budget. Thanks though!

I would stick with National. You check in (if you are not an EC member) at the counter and then just go pick your vehicle.

Budget is very nice, but, they have a nasty habit of trying to sell you insurance or an upgrade. National is much easier to deal with. And, I prefer GM to Ford.

LOL, anytime. Actually, I am a GM girl all the way for domestic cars, unfortunately I own a Miata (Ford), Honda and Alfa Romeo.

I will rent from Alamo or National, both have GM.
