Budget through carrentalsavers?

We are off to Indiana to visit the in-laws for the big 4th of July family reunion for 5 days! (yes, there's a tad of sarcasm in there...). Car rental rates are not very good over 4th of July weekend, obviously, but I have a rate of $232 for an SUV at Budget, through carrentalsavers.com. I have never rented from Budget, but I'd really like to rent the small SUV. Is Budget "worthwhile", as in, is it an easy rental, do they have vehicles in decent condition, are they above-board or will they hassle me about insurance, scratches, etc.? I have a cheaper back-up with Alamo ($205 for a full-size car) but I'd really like the SUV. Also, is carrentalsavers reliable?

I got spoiled using the KLM discount on the National Emerald Aisle so don't know anything about Budget. Experiences/information/opinions on Budget- or carrentalsavers- would be greatly appreciated.

We've rented from Budget several times with no problems. As far as carrentalsavers, they have been very reliable. We've rented through them many times.

We've used Budget and carrentalsavers and both are good. They will probably try to get you to take their insurance or upgrade (most all of them do) but just say no. Sometimes they say stuff in a way that makes you think that there would be no charge for it. For example we had reserved a mini van and when I got to the desk he ask if I wanted the suburban or explorer, as if he was giving me a choice according to my reservation. I said no the mini van would do. Just watch the paperwork and the price you reserved for and question if there's a difference.

I wonder... if I am a member of Budget's fast break or whatever it is, do you think I can bypass the counter or do online check-in or something? I don't know if having a reservation through carrentalsavers will void that option.

You can still use the fastbreak I think. There's a place on the reservation to put your number. You'll also get a Budget confirmation number that you can use on the Budget site to see your reservation.
