Budget lodging in Hot Springs, AR?

We're doing a long weekend in mid-September to Hot Springs. Good hotels seems to be about $140.00! We're not looking for a cheap hotel, but we are looking for a nice place to stay that is not too expensive. We may start looking at vacation rentals. Does anyone have any lodging ideas that they can recommend? We'll have a rental car. Thanks so much!

Hot Spring, AR? I can't recommend anything specific, but in general, the stuff near the lake is nicer, and the neighborhood near the racetrack (Oaklawn) is seedier. It's a nice place for a vacation; it's just unfortunate that not everything has been well maintained.
