My car is 10 yrs old but relatively scratch & ding free so I was mad to notice a 2 ft long scratch on the driver & passenger door. It's not too deep and hopefully accidental (and not someone nasty having keyed it) and some of it looks better already after a little rubbing but most of it is still there. Any budget fix ideas please?

Is it possible to buy a bottle of touchup paint? That would probably be the least expensive way to fix it.

my mom found an article that said you find a crayon to match your car and you heat it up a little and put in on the scratch try to Google that she said it worked well

subscribing due to scratch that I put on husband's NEW car. Oye Of course the car is now 4 years old as is the scratch.

I tried the touch up paint and it did not work very well.

Crayon sounds good, but does not seem like it would last.

if it's just the surface, can you buff it out?

Those touch up paints do work, you just have to prep the area correctly.

This just happened to me this week, same type of scratch, maybe a foot long. I think it was one of the neighbor kids w/their bike/scooter.

I think after you use the crayon, you buff it out and apply a coat of wax, then buff again.

Thanks, so how do you buff? I have a fingernail buffer, but that"s probably very different?
