Thank you all for your kind thoughts and words. I know it will sink in eventually, we will heal and move on, but for now it feels so raw, especially with Christmas this week, and I feel so bad that I couldn't be there with DH, but there was really no way we could make that work, so I just have to do the best I can.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It will feel raw for a while but one day you all will be able to move on and be okay. On Feb 1st, 2001 we celebrated my husband's last day as a police officer with champagne, just the 2 of us. We were moving to a dream location in 3 months and in the mean time, he was going to Quantico for 3 months of training. The next morning his dad died suddenly. Our whole world spun out of control for 3 weeks as my husband had to postpone his training. I was then in charge of selling our house, while working and such. But once a few weeks passed, things got better. Then months, then years and now we all feel better. Hang in there and be as supportive as you can.
