Cast: DH & I who haven't been to WDW since we were teens w/parents & DS is 2 yo.
I've been planning since last July, DH just follows along and DS doesn't know what he's in for!
Day 8 Thursday June 6 - AK & MK
Mickey wake-up at 7:15, we have room service breakfast, yummy pancakes for me & DS & eggs for DH. We are on the bus at 8:30am, for AK. We go straight to Safari, 20min wait, OK! After yesterday I wasn't running around, back & forth again! We really liked this ride, the whole experience. It was a lot of fun. The animals & the landscaping were beautiful. Then we go to Dinoland. We didn't stop much along the way, again it was really HOT! We even had the fans & mister, but whew, we were hot. We rode Triceratop Spin, 10m wait. Wow, Primeval Whirl looked so cool, but we didn't get to ride it this time. We go to the Boneyard for awhile, then we head out about 11:00am. We just wanted this to be a short day. We go to the San Diego zoo a lot, so didn't feel the need to explore much. I'm sure AK is a lot more interesting & beautiful than the zoo, but we were really getting wiped out by Thursday. Legs getting stiffer & stiffer! On the way out we decide to go to Rainforest Cafe for lunch (instead of Kona, boo hoo!), but it was great. We had been here before in San Francsico, so we knew DS would really enjoy it. The food was really good, too. DH took DS around to see everything. I just sat back and relaxed. We waited about 15m for the bus and were back around 1:00pm.
We rested, went swimming, rested some more. About 5:00 we went to the lounge to see what was being offered. Potato salad & chicken wings, not really our thing. So, what to do for dinner? DS was going bonkers in the room, or else I wanted to just order a pizza. So, we decide to go to MK, and try Tony's or something. Alas, DS fell asleep on the monorail, so DH & I just went to Plaza Pavillion, food was good. Then I tell DH he doesn't have to stay, he can go to the arcade back at the hotel & I will take DS on a few rides & be back for the FW. DH says OK. I go to Pooh & I get a FP!! The CM is putting the covers on the boxes, but I got one! Return time 7:45-8:45, sweet! DS wakes up & we go on Small World, Aladdin, Jungle Cruise was too long, 30m, so back to Small World. Then it starts drizzling. Not too bad though. We ride the Carousel and finally Pooh! Yippee! We did much better than last night! We are back in the room by 8:30pm. We head to the lounge for desert, but the FW & EWP are cancelled due to the rain.
This day went very well. There was a lot at AK we didn't do, but we were OK with that. I felt much better than I did after the day before. Only one day left though, MK again & relaxing!
