BUCANEERS TAKE OVER THE WEST CRUISE! Apr 3-10 2010

Okay, this cruise needs to get here NOW! Trying to get my dad and my aunt ready, but they don't really know what to expect, despite our explanations. DW and the DDs are getting plenty excited, though. I just can't wait to have some time to sit and relax with a cool drink in hand. We will have a veranda this time, and I'm looking forward to spending time on it.

WOW!!! We just booked tonight. Talk about last minute. Spontaneous huh? Got alot to do. Can't wait.....:cool1:

Just heard from the nurse at my dad's assisted living facility: "Has he ever had his gall bladder removed?"

Oh swell...!:headache:

He has an appointment on Thursday -- we'll see. He has a bunch of other appointments with other doctors as well, getting checked out before the trip. Think good thoughts!

By the way, I mentioned this in a thread about movies on board (in 3D!), but disneycruiser dot info now has a complete set of Navigators from the March 6 Magic western cruise, which gives us a nice preview for the April 3 cruise.

Thinking good thoughts. Hope all goes well on Thursday.

When we cruised in 2008, along with the online check-in, there was a registration form to sign kids up in advance for the Oceaneer Lab, Quest, etc.

I don't see that anywhere online... did that go away with the advent of the youth program changes this year?

Also - speaking of online stuff - has anyone seen anything about fuel surcharges as they might relate to this cruise, and any OBCs we might be expecting? I can't see my invoice online (since no changes can be made to the reservation at this point), so I don't know if we were even subject to a surcharge to begin with. (Which would naturally eliminate any OBCs if we weren't.)

I am beyond excited at this point. :hyper::jumping1:

But, I have not even begun to pull out warm weather clothes to see what still fits. :crazy2:

Had to cancel our kayaking in Key West due to shoulder trouble. But, we'll do it another time.

Regarding the kids clubs I registered my child online. I think there might be a cut off for doing it at this point online? Not sure, but I'm sure it wont take much time onboard.

Only 6 days until we fly to Orlando for a few days before the cruise!!!!!!!!!

Hi everybody! We are totally excited about this cruise! It's my Mom's first and she calls me every day with questions about getting ready. I gave her a Cruise Care package for Christmas with an overdoor shoe organizer, Fish Extender. and misc little goodies for her room.

Tonight I finally finished the online docs and tux order. I'm still sewing DD's dress. We've been cruise shopping for nearly two years now so that's pretty much done.

I've scanned the thread and it looks like lots of people want to do FE's. Is there a plan in place or should we all just hang them out and prowl the halls at random to drop off gifts? This is my usual favorite method.

My DS wants to make special autograph books for himself, his sisters and 2 cousins. Can some of you "return cruisers" give me an idea of the characters that we will see while on the cruise?

Almost all the classic characters. The fab five over and over. The pricesseses. And many more. On the last night there is a grand gathering of anyone you might have missed or never seen before. Many characters in the shows make an apperance now and then.

So how did those appointments go?

Think we will have to forego the FEs this time around... will hopefully meet up with you all on the cruise. (Keep thinking good thoughts for us... still talking to the doctors...)

Hi - I like the idea of roaming the halls to fill up FE's! We just got ours the other day and I am so excited about hanging it up! Any ideas on what type of 'treats' people typically bring to put in the FE's?

Search the primary cruise board for Fish Extenders and you will find plenty of ideas.

We are dressing up for pirate night. I made costumes for me and DD. DH has a wild outfit he likes to wear, and DGM has put together an ensemble from her theater's costume closet.

I did a tally of our board today to see how many we have. There are a couple of large groups so I might be off but here goes.

Nuclear families 23
Parental units between 40 and 46
Teens 6
Grade school kids 23
Babies & toddlers 4
Grandparents between 7 and 10

I have no guess how many rooms.

We are not going to be doing FE this time. So you can take 2 adult and 1 school age out of the mix.

Time to sort through my clothes today!
