some say its good and some say they didn't like the food and service is bad but I am going to give them a try in july but have tried Nascar Grille and loved thier brickyard burger and my DS's loved the lucky dog.

We were also there in July. Good food, GREAT service. The wait staff is very friendly. A good place to celebrate a birthday! :thumbsup2

we were there last feb. food was good. nothing spectacular, but we would go again. fun atmosphere.

We went in Feb...party of 12...originally told 45 min wait...more like 30min. Gave kids their menu in advance to do the activites while they waited.....good food (and i don't eat seafood) and service...no complaints :thumbsup2

My mom was born & raised in Derry, Northern Ireland. I have been there 4 times. The last time I was there, I cried the whole day I was leaving. I didnt want to come back home. I love it there. My mom has 16 brothers & sisters, so I have a lot of family there!!

I'll have a more in-depth review with Pics in the trip report I'm working on but for a quick review let me just say WORST MEAL EVER! We ate at bubba Gumps on 12/19/07 didnt have to wait for a table that was nice. The server was pleasant and told us about the specials. We ordered the Onion Rings for appetizer and sadly that was the best thing about the meal. The breading was crispy and tasty like it should be the onion was crispy and the dipping sauce was your standard chiptole dipping sauce, very good starter as most onion rings we come across have simply fall apart and have soggy onions on the inside Bubba Gump's had good onion rings and "thats all I have to say about that" DD (6) ordered a drink in one of those blinking cups lol that was cute and she had chicken strips. DW had the stuffed shrimp and I ordered the Shrimper's Heaven which consisted of Coconut shrimp, chilled shrimp, fried shrimp, hush pups, fries and of course dipping sauces. DW's stuffed shrimp was not stuffed at all instead it had a pile of crab meat ontop of each shrimp, sounds good right... WRONG. The crab meat was canned the shrimp obviously not fresh but frozen and it was bad bad bad. My meal. We'll how can you screw up fried shrimp? Just ask Bubba Gump my meal was just as bad the chilled shrimp was also obviously frozen and then thawed. You can taste the difference between fresh and previously frozen food. All of my fried offerings were overcooked. Now I cant say which meal or maybe it was both of them DW sample mine and I sampled DW but after the meal when we were back in our room we both got

We have avoided Bubba Gumps before at other locations Charlston, Gatlinburg etc, so why we decided to try it now I'll never know but my wife said lets try it and so we did but we both have vowed never ever ever again. ohh and to add insult to injury this is the only place that doesnt take your on-site hotel room key for charges. They have to call it in to your hotel. When I asked why they were the only place on all of Universal property that doesnt allow room charges if staying on-site the server just had a :confused3 look in his eye. NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Wow! Sounds like you guys had a really horrendous meal !!! Even the chipotle sauce was messed up !!!

Is there anywhere else we should avoid ???

If you go to Jimmy Buffets avoid the following but others likes crab chowder, mexicale burger and cheese burger in paradise the chowder made DS sick and the burgers were bland and tastless and ketchup and even mayo couldn't make them taste any better but on a up note the volcanoe Nachos were great and thats the only thing we will order from there agian.

a lot of people feel like that when they visit here. People here make you feel really welcome, and an easy going laid back lifestyle, adds to that.
I grew up in Belfast and moved to a town just outside it, never go up to Derry would usually go the opposite way to Dublin.

My two DSs and I ate at Bubba Gump's during our trip to UO last week.

We were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. She even came over and asked us trivia questions about the movie (I got them all right :thumbsup2 ).

We ordered the onion rings as an appetizer and they were delicious.

I ordered Mama's Fried Chicken, my youngest DS ordered the shrimp and my oldest DS ordered the Fish sandwich. We all enjoyed our meal.

This is the third Bubba Gump's restaurant I have visited and I have enjoyed my meal at all three.

If you plan to go to Bubba Gumps, I have a discount code (thanks to another DIS'er) for purchasing gift cards online. You get $15 off $50. . . we ordered two for our family of 5.

Here's the thing. . . today is the last day to order with the code, so if you are interested, send me a PM.

We have been to Bubba Gumps twice. Both in Florida and both times we had all our children with us, so we were a group of 8. All 8 meals both times were good. I've read mixed reviews also, but our experience has been good. Service, food, atmosphere. I'm not a "foodie", but I do have fairly high expectations when dining out (depending on where we go, of course, and what we order). I say go for it and decide for yourself. Remember that if you have an unacceptable meal, call a manager to your table and express your concerns. You can certainly accomplish this without "making a scene" or even any other nearby table knowing what is going on and they should have a chance to make things right for you.

The first time we ate there (I have no idea when.. but it wasn't long after it opened), it was great. Our server was adorable. Food was good. We had a really good time.

The last time was during Horror Nights.. service was bad, food was bad.. DO NOT order the Popcorn Shrimp appetizer. Me and my friend ordered it to share and the server brought out 9 popcorn shrimp. The appetizer cost $9. I had her go back and ask the kitchen if that was a mistake or not.. when it turns out it wasn't, I asked her to take it back and have it taken off the bill. $1 per popcorn shrimp? No thanks. Bubba can keep 'em.

Can somebody who lives in a *Gulf State* chime in. No offense, but we seem to have our own ideas on how seafood should be cooked. ;)

Well, I live in Orlando (for the last 4 years) but am a native Texan who lived on the gulf in south Texas. I love Bubba Gumps.

Good to know! We'll be going to the new orleans location this spring. :)

I'll add my "me too" that I've always been happy with the food and service at Bubba Gumps. I've eaten there several times.

Bubba Gump's is a "must do" for us, we have always had great service and good food there.
