My girls want go to Bubba Gump Shrimp Company but I don't know much about it. :confused3 We found their website but would like a few reviews. Please help!

1. What are their prices like? We saw the menu on-line but no prices.
2. Do they take reservations? We have a group of 18.
3. Is their food good?
4. Anything you would stay away from?

We've been to the one on Citiwalk a few times and they aren't bad. With a party the size of yours, I would definitely call ahead. Just visit the Bubba Gump web site and find the number by looking up the location. We've always done walk-ups at Citiwalk and have had no problem getting in with a party of 5 adults and 2 kids (or more). I've never had a bad experience there.

I don't feel that is tries to be as healthy as Red Lobster (with about the same pricing), as far as it's menu options go, but they are passible. We like the shrimp in a pot of broth that you dip bread into. One of the few options that isn't fried. They do have something in a Cajun cream sauce that was really good and their appetizers are nice. There are also good items for non-seafood lovers.

Service is decent - just remember to flip the license plate to get them to stop and help you.

Hope that helps.

We've eaten at the one in Honolulu about 3 years ago, it was fun, good food and from what I can remember reasonable prices :)

We love the Bubba Gumps at Pier 39 in San Francisco. We have made the 2 hour drive to the bay just for lunch there. :)

So, we enjoy the place!

We always enjoy Bubba Gumps. The prices are decent. The food is good! I'm not even a seafood person, and there are plenty of choics for everyone. Good drinks and desserts too. Definately call ahead for details of a large party.

I've eaten at the one in New Orleans about 10 times. Yes I love it. I almost always get the bucket of boat trash-shrimp, lobster bits and chunks of fish. The prices are Disneyesque, high but not crazy. And the atmosphere is terrific. Just know that parties of 6 or more are automatically billed for a tip, and in Nola, that always means lousy service.

Bubba Gump's is more of a unique atmosphere type of restaurant. If anyone in your party is a fan of Forrest Gump (or just seafood in general) they will definitely appreciate eating here.
Service is friendly and the prices aren't too bad either.

I have not eaten at the one at CityWalk recently, but there is also one in Long Beach across from the Aquarium of the Pacific and it's very good as well.

We like the bucket of boat trash also. It is served in a bucket with the above listed things and fries. Not as big a menu as Red Lobster with an emphasis towards shrimp and a more festive, less subdued atmosphere. I don't believe they take reservations. Last time we ate at one the prices ranged from about $10-25 for a meal.

We have too! LOL But it's not quite 2 hours for us, more like an hour until you hit traffic. LOL

Prices are a bit high, for our family of 4 (2 eating off the kids menu) we spent $100 but we also got the special drink cup for DD8 so that added to the price.

2. Do they take reservations? We have a group of 18.
I'm sure they will appreciate a heads up. Call them and let them know you're coming, it can't hurt.

3. Is their food good?
Oh my goodness YES!!!!! And the trivia game is fun too!!

4. Anything you would stay away from?
Nothing yet......

love bubba gumps..
as long as you stay away from appetizers and specialty drinks it can help keep your cost down.
Family of 5 can definately get to 100.00 quickly..

We eat at the one in Monterey every time we go. The atmosphere is fun and the waitstaff is usually a lot of fun to talk to as well. I don't think we've ever come near spending $100 (family of 6- we spend about $60 usually). I love the "Bucket of Boat Trash". A lot of the items are fried, and a lot of it is very salty. But I can't wait to go back again.
