BTMRR Restraints

The lap bar is intended to keep people seated. It is not the actual mechanism that holds you into the car, whether you're 50 pounds or 300. (If it were needed for that, they would design the ride with individual restraints.)

He will probably slide back and forth a bit, but as long as he meets the height requirement and remains seated, there's no way to fall out -- not even on that one quick "dip" drop where some people feel like they're being lifted slightly out of their seat, but is in fact too mild to do that.

If you're very large, no offense, but it's not the child I'd be concerned about. He'll slide around in the turns and bump into you. Probably won't hurt you. But if you slide around and slam into him, that may hurt...and if you don't brace yourself you will slide. I'm only 177lbs and I brace myself so that I don't slam into my kids. It's a super fun ride, I love it, but it will move you side to side quite a bit.

I always have an arm around my kids when we ride since the bar doesn't reach them. It's plenty secure that way to feel like you won't lose your kid :)
