I'm destined not to ride that ride. It was down at 3, then back up by 4 and shut down again maybe around 4:30? While we were on it, it stopped once for a bit, then one more time for good. (heading up a hill). We had to sit there for a bit, then 2 CMs came to take us off and down. (had to go though a tunnel, along the ride). When asked what the problem was the CM suspected the heat. (mid 90s here this week-not allowed in the front of the monorail because its too hot!)

That being said, if you are in the parks and want to do BTMRR I'd recommend doing it earlier in the day. Not sure if I'll try tomorrow.

Last year, I was never able to get on it because it kept on breaking down when I was available to go on it. (ride those rides when my son naps)

They gave me a fastpass good for anything but the matterhorn in DL. (not DCA). Ironically, I have 2 other fastpasses good for anything but Carland but haven't had to use them as the waits have been pretty easy to navigate around without them.

Interesting to know about the heat. Thanks for posting! And sorry about your ride!!

It was down at about 10 pm last night when DD and I tried to ride, but opened back up at 10:30 or so. We walked past and they started letting people in, we were in the first group! Same thing happened at the Haunted Mansion, we walked up and the opened the gates and we walked on with the first group. It was a lucky night, I guess. :)

BTMRR seems to go down a lot. I'm glad you're safe :)

Interesting. We were there in July and rode it many times without issue.

We did have Space Mountain stop on us which freaked us out since we could still hear other cars on the track above us (we were almost to the picture tunnel). Once all the cars stopped, they turned the lights on which was super cool. I thought we would exit the ride and be escorted out but they essentially pushed us to a point where we just coasted back to the station. We sat there for a couple minutes and they got the ride right back up and we rode it all the way through. One of many highlights of my 40th birthday at DL.

I've always wanted to see with SM looks like with the lights on, but part of me would be a little frightened. I heard it is scarier with the lights on because you can see the tracks and all that and how it was built. Glad you got to ride it though! One of my favorites at DL.
